How?
And Hisao's fate in Kenji's route is primarily Hisao's fault. You might as well hate every other character because they also just happen to be involved in potential bad endings for Hisao. Seriously, what a bunch of
bitches.
Fun fact: Emi's writer hates Kenji too.
That's interesting... nothing about her route suggested that.

I enjoy him as a character, he's over-the-top enough to make him enjoyable, but not so much that he becomes an annoying caricature, like someone else I could mention. (I won't name names, but he fathered a deaf girl and a crossdresser, and his initials are J. H.)
That said, if I knew someone like him in real life, I'd probably avoid him as much as possible.

There's an interview floating around someplace where he mentions it. But, unfortunately, comical side characters are a necessary evil.

He's comic relief. He either grows on you or not. I hated him for about the first half of my first playthrough. Then I started to warm up to him. By the end of that playthrough, I started to see him as a harmless kook who sometimes says entertainingly looney things. Now that I'm working on fanfic, I love him — he's an absolute blast to write.

Kenji is cool. He just most likely has Schizophrenia. His concerns are a very real problem too, but just not to the ridiculous extent he portrays them to be. Kenji does consider himself a true friend to Hiseo, but he is paranoid by nature which does not allow him to trust anyone.
So he treats his friends like strangers and treats people he is suspicious of normally. Hiseo as a character doesn't really like him, but cannot avoid him completely because he lives so close.
Comedy relief, and some of the things he does is downright hilarious. My favorite part is when he yells really horrible obscene things at Shizune and takes it as if she was challenging him XD.

Eventually I just started skipping through his dialog. The thing about making intentionally annoying characters is they have a habit of annoying your audience; making your work annoying. It's a bit of a wonder they included him in the first place. I have to think they added him to poke fun at 4chan culture, implying that if you fail all your relationships with women, you turn into Kenji.
Honestly though I couldn't have cared any less about him, I'd pick that last option in the poll, but that would seem to imply I actively hated him. Really, I just actively ignored him.

He
corners Hisao in the shower, naked, and demands pizza money. For starters.
I don't blame Kenji for the bad ending, I merely associate him with failure.

Maybe he just wanted some Hisao to go with his pizza. With waifu stealing swag like Hisao has, it's hard to blame Kenji.

I will admit, I frequently skimmed/skipped Kenji's dialogue. I get that they're playing him as a comic relief character, but he ends up feeling rather disconnected from the central plot, kind of tacked on.

At least until the Kenji route is written! All Kenji POV, creeping in on Hisao in an attempt to keep him from the feminist clutches whist simultaneously fortifying the pillow fort of ultimate justice against the rat intrusions.

In the bad end, you get an H scene that's just an orgy on the roof with every girl in the game that causes Kenji to fall off and die.

...I would play the entire route just to see that one scene.

Pal, they call that a "good end" where I come from.

After the first readthrough, I mostly skipped Kenji's dialouge, however I had a lot of fun writing him in 'Zombies'

I considered skipping most of his scenes. But stsrted to worry that the sneaky devs may have hidden an important plot point in one of them.
