I don't think anybodies Halloween is the same, most of the people here call it Hallow's eve and it's less about dressing up and such and more about the festival we have on the day of.

I don't know about the religious celebration. Where I live, it basically involves putting on a "scary" costume and going to people's doors, asking for candy by saying "Trick or treat." It's silly, but the costumes can be interesting and the candy is free and tasty. If you don't want to go out trick-or-treating, you can stay inside and offer candy to anyone who comes to your house.

Also, there are generally Halloween decorations. "Scary" faces are carved onto pumpkins, people decorate their houses with stuff like witches and zombies or put fake gravestones on the lawn or whatever. I think you get the idea.

The "trick" is usually razorblades in the candy.

I never fully understood this whole pumpkin carving thing, but I've been cooking the seeds as long as i could remember.

Ignoring whether or not Japan celebrates it, do you think Yuuko would get Halloween off? Or at least get to dress up?

I don't go trick or treating anymore since I'm too old but I don't care about that anymore. What I do is stay home and pass out candy while dressed in an evil looking grim reaper costume. Everybody 5 years and up is fair game to scare for me. I have scared little kids into staying by the curb while their parents get the candy just by staring at them. I have scared older kids and even highschoolers by just holding still to make them think I am just a dummy that was put out to guard the candy and then scream at them as they grab the candy. I have even startled parents with these and other tactics over the years. Halloween is one of the holidays of the year everybody loves. Some for the candy, others for the fear...

Who said I was too old to have fun? I routinely scare the ever-loving daylights out of just about anybody who walks up to me for candy. I said I was too old for trick or treating. I crossed that line at 18 and now at 22, scaring little kids is so much more rewarding than a little candy. It does help that I can distort my voice into a horrible demonic tone that only few other humans I know of can pull off. If it makes you feel any better, I get all the leftover candy that I don't give out.

Because many adults think it strange when a 22 year old is going around for candy like an 8 year old. Scaring said 8 year old is more fun, especially when they come to me .
