Katawa Shoujo Forums

I usually avoid the whole 4-chan and "cripple" thing altogether as those words tend to make people assume the worst. When I mention it, I just say that its a really sweet story about a boy who has a heart condition who's sent to a special school. And of course that its a free download. Then I'll give them a link to the KS website. That's gotten a few people into it that way.

Robin pre researched it. was very awkward to explain to her I was playing porn for the storyline. Now she's a fan.

I still don't get why people think KS is porn. I mean hell, is "Titanic" porn? It has a steamy sex scene and shows the female leads boobs.

It's hard for most people I know to describe Katawa Shoujo without calling it a dating sim. I think of it more like an actual novel, except visual. Hence, visual novel, but with dating sim-esque traits.

(as most have these days but that's beside the point)

Convinced one ! I just let him listen to the sound track. He asked me where it was from pointed him to the website now he's playing it and loves it. Now I can get him to help me convince my other friends.

I think I've gotten about four people to try it so far.

It didn't help that review called it as such.

Good on you dude. I've tried to convince other people. Unfortunately no one believes me, do their own research, then call me perverted.

I've asked a couple people if they played it. And then someone I knew posted this on FB and denied ever reading KS, even after his girlfriend asked if he read a novel that had disabled girls and possible situations:

I have about five friends that would immediately play Katawa Shoujo if I told them that one of the characters inspired that man to do what he does.

I've convinced two otherwise.

I'll think that many people still find it hard to accept that folks who can't see or hear, or are missing arms and legs, are average folks. They have many of the same concerns and emotions as the rest of us.
