Dude, the map above it's pretty much everything you need.
Brown University is where some of the photos were taken, but it's not Yamaku.
Brown has almost 10.000 students, while Yamaku hosts about 12 classes of maybe 20 people, so 300 students at most - probably less.

Ehhh, the backgrounds pics set KS in at least three different continents
at the same time. Teleportation would be more common than in sci-fi novels if you went by that.
Y'all should not really read too much into the backgrounds, or where they came from.

We're not even sure how many classes each year level has. Since the Japanese system uses numbers or alphabets to mark the homeroom of a year level and what group (e.g. Year 12 class 3 would be 3 - 3, Year 12 class 2 would be 3 - 2, etc. Alternatively, it could go 3 - C and 3 - B respectively.), there could be more than 5-6 class in each year level--the school building alone could probably hosts say about 400-500 students at most. 300 is a good estimate, but I'd say it has probably more student.

The "Hill" is actually the road leading into Shirakawa-go. Some of you may be more familiar with its Anime name; Hinamizawa.
That's pretty...morbid? Or hilarious?
Fail your test? Have the urge to kill someone? Socially awkward? Go take a break to the hills and head over to Hinamizawa where you can mingle with the locals and return to civilization with a clear mind...
and oyashiro-sama's curse.

Can't find the citation right now, but I think I remember one of the devs confirming there were 4 classes in third year.

At least 4 classes. Lilly in 3-2, Hanako & Hisao in 3-3 and Rin & Emi in 3-4.

I deliberately left out those two.
