Nah. Polls are polls. Nothing wrong about them. Now looking at my love life, THAT makes me feel pathetic.

These results are nothing surprising.

Although it's strange when you compare these statistics with the romance novel market. For some odd reason, it's difficult to find an honest-to-goodness romance made for guys in modern literature. Almost everything is aimed at women. Book covers are as girlish as possible, the great majority of protagonists are female, and male authors are even encouraged to use female pseudonyms. Whatever male-oriented books with romance are usually marketed under "masculine" genres such as mystery and action, with romance coyly thrown in. The general mentality is that men don't want to read romance, which is strangely contradicted when you consider how romantic visual novels made for men are so successful. Why is there so little male-oriented romance in literature when there's obviously a market for it? It'd be nice if some romance authors tried to tap more into the same market of guys who like romantic visual novels.

If I were, which I'm not, I'd probably vote gay or lesbian just to split it from the plain straight group. Also, if the person is bi, wouldn't they put the one they prefer? I don't understand how it is for those that are bi so please don't rage at my ignorance.

Interesting. I would've guessed the ratio would be about 70-30 between guys and girls, sexuality aside. I remember reading a lot of posts by female fans before the game came out; I wonder if the fanbase has become more male since then. Or maybe guys are just more likely to respond to polls about gender.
