They call it "Katawa Dick Syndrome." It happens. I theorize it's the same reason why soldiers in boot camp have a huge loss of sex drive: exhaustion. Except in the case of KDS, it's emotional, not physical exhaustion.

Katawa Shoujo has definitely helped me cut back on my fapping, something I've been meaning to do for ages. Hell, I went like two weeks straight without doing it when the game first came out.

I think we might have just discovered a new way of battling illegal porn.

Great idea! Perhaps Katawa Shoujo could even be used to help sex addicts curb their urges.

It's like a more humane form of psychological warfare.

like a fujoshi, i prefer more romantic-expresive scenes than the purely hardcore (or if are like this, only liked the well drawed ones or with lot of emotion-love-or very expresive faces) and same with all the rest of kinds of love material (because i like all kinds of love n_n)
In this game i found some of the most delicate lovemaking scenes who i seen in lot of time.Specially the Rin ones.

"Katawa Dick Syndrome" is related to the Law of Conservation of Energy. The energy that guys would normally use for sexual "expression" gets rerouted to dealing with "the feels" of KS instead. It's the same principle behind psychosomatic erectile dysfunction. 8)

Would be weird if I requested she wrote more?
I'm pretty sure we haven't read the last of Aura yet. I don't think whatever is to come will be KS-related, though.
However it will be him doing the writing, not her.

Seeing this thread makes me think that it is a common side effect. I, too, have not felt my own embrace for quite some time now, nor have yearned for it.

As for KDS, I made a thread for discussing that too, so let's move it there. Edit: that got locked. Oh, well. Let's stop it here then.

Now to put this thread back on topic:

Oli, what you saw were sex scenes indeed. They may be a bit softcore for you, but that's what they mean when they say that the sex scenes in KS are done in good taste. They're not just there to excite you, they're in the game more for emotional impact and to further the story. So that's why in general the sex scenes are usually not that explicit. Play the other 4 stories as well, and you'll see how it goes. Also, IIRC I read somewhere that many if not most of the sex scenes were drawn by ladies, so, that may explain why they are somewhat more softcore.
