Most of my friends are pretty casual when it comes to gaming, preferring FPS for the shooting and K/D.

I try sharing KS with the one that I know like a good story. I still can't get any of them to play it. -_-

I'm still trying to get them to play... I know that at least one of them will like the game, but I'm not very good with words so trying to talk them into downloading and playing it is not working.

i told to 3 or 4 friends about the game, no one was interested.

Being a fellow Brazilian I concur with Tomate's frustration. No one here gives a sad fuck for visual novels. My friend introduced KS to me and I just didn't stop talking about it with him. He said I got too addicted. I regret nothing.

Well, I introduced my friend to KS about two weeks ago; I didn't tell him anything about the game but instead I just sent him the download link and let him discover it on his own. He hasn't passed act 1 as far as I am aware but that's due to the fact that he's already engrossed in a Richard Dawkins book as well as some John Green stuff as well. I never told him that it had any hentai at all as I don't consider KS to be a hentai visual novel myself but I instead just count it as one of the many scenes in the story. Hopefully, once our exams are done and he has a bit more free time I can see if he is still interested in it, he's going for the Hanako/ Lilly route last time I check and I will be interested in seeing his response.

Everyone I've shown the game to have been "converted". They were all like, "Eh, I dunno." then they played Act 1 and most of them I haven't heard from since. :P

Umm... my prof caught me playing it during class I told him about it and got him hooked, he is now playing it before class starts... supposedly with adult content turned off of course...
My friends think I am just being me, looking up weird stuff, and just dismissed it.

They told me I was a cripple fetishist.

Most of them tried it anyway. Short story? They took it back.

If someone plays FPS's for K/D, that's probably a hardcore gamer. If someone played Katawa once or twice through, that's casual gaming. Unless you are like me and must replay over and over again.

I havent mentioned it. I dont think I could.

Im already someone with a poor social life, and fit the nerd/geek steryotype. If I mentioned KS, it would be much worse, im wouldnt be just the antisocial nerd, I would be the antisocial nerd into cartoon porn, with a disablity fetish. Something like that.

I just hope the praise for the game caught their attention, then they atleast try it. Its a shame, its a great VN, but reccomending it would be troublesome.

I told one of my friends about the feels and told him to check it out, got him hooked.
Another one of my friends is more jaded when it comes to anything creative anymore, but he's at least willing to try it out now.

I wish I knew more people who were more open-minded about these kinds of things but these are the only two friends I can think of right now who will give the novel a chance. :/

I originally didn't want to go all 5 heroines, so I tried to convince a friend to do at least one and tell me what it was. He said he would eventually. As I was going through my fourth or so playthrough, he was on the Shizune path. Though he's taking it pretty slowly.

It isn't a game where I could just use a single sentence to explain to someone. I actually mention the bare bones premise after I lavish it with praise of having deep characters and great writing. So people are like oo that sounds good then when I mention how it involves disabled girls there is usually a long pause which I fit in with how tastefully done it is. One person sent back a message of just '.....' when I told them about why it is called katawa shoujo.

I told a few friends and got one to play it, but she is going through it at a leisurely pace.

I'm enraptured by the game, tons of pictures, new compie and mp3 player background, and spent all last weekend learning pieces from the awesome soundtrack on piano.

Not sure how some of my irl (non anime fan) friends will handle it, especially since the idea that it is a game where I date girls and they don't know I'm les. Though I guess there are worse ways of coming out than via talking about a VN.

I'm also from Brazil, and I won't say something like "you have the wrong friends" but you can find a lot of otakus in Brazil (I'm from Recife) who likes VN and can even name a few. I have a couple of friends that like me read VNs regularly, but one of them treats them solely like fapping material so I can't bring up KS to thim or I'd turn into a cripple fetishist to his eyes. But anyway, you guys got Anime Friends over there, so get there with a T-shirt of some VN character and someone's bound to talk to you and get to make some friends who also enjoy VNs :D

I have introduced KS to my gf and another friend who likes VNs properly (I had introduced Yume Miru Kusuri to him before and he loved it). At first he was like "uh isn't this a bit too much?" But then I explained to him the context and he said he'd take a look. I expect him to never download it or to come to me some random day after getting 100%.

My gf didn't had any weird reaction as after introducing KS to my other friend I knew how to talk about it to other people, but she said it was probably too sad and she cries like reading newspapers so she's letting her period pass by (she's more emotional while on her period) to start reading.

Shizune lovers will probably shoot me for that, but I have advised my friends about starting with Shizune's path. I found it too detached and sad to start the game with, and it almost made me stop reading. I needed to come to the forum to see if the other routes were a bit more light-headed.

I would consider my friends hardcore if they play something else other than shooters all the time every time.
