Could be deformed arms. Does anyone remember if she'd gone through an amputation?

The original sketch, according to the translation on the shimmie, says her arms were "short since birth". Her character profile says there was a surgery but the implication is that they were already stumps and the surgery just made 'em...cleaner.

Rin changed; the original Raita sketch says Rin's condition is due to Thalidomide, but since that was taken off the world market in 1962, it didn't really make sense for Rin's condition to be due to that, since she was born over 25 years later. This fan sketch made before the KS project started shows Rin with Thalidomide-like arms (I think that fan sketch is also where Niji came from).

So Rin was changed: "Rin’s arms are tiny stumps due to a severe birth defect and subsequent surgery" from her profile.

Scrap the idea, it was bad taste to begin with.
