Maybe she does wear a monocle on that eye and we just never see it? Hell, it could be a cyborg eye for all we know (pretending the 100% CG doesn't exist, of course).

This is just me being somewhat on/off topic but what I have come to understand with people with a personality much like that of Hanako is this.(Replying more on why she hides the eye)
It brings here a sense of security even if the eye is undamaged. When one doesn't show their full face it's like keeping a part of yourself hidden or protected in some way. Mostly due to being shy in cases. I wouldn't be surprised to see her become more comfortable through the game with Hisao to start moving the hair out her eye more often when in a conversation. It would represent a sign of letting him see that she is completely openning/trusting him in a deep way.

Just my take on Hanako from life experience.

P.S. Sorry, but the monicle doesn't work as well as glasses would for me.
