Emi's New Sprites
Re: Emi's New Sprites
I also think that she now matches the art style of the rest of the game better. She's also more detailed now in comparison to the other sprite.
Not quite the same scene from what I found with a cursory search, but that should help people by providing a comparison.

She might be a little bit too detailed now, she sticks out a little next to Rin's sprite...Arraxis wrote:I also think that she now matches the art style of the rest of the game better. She's also more detailed now in comparison to the other sprite.

Re: Emi's New Sprites
Her hair looks like it's been sculpted from stone. I like the change in style, but the highlights seem to be overcompensating... Still, at least it's no longer a a bowl cut with pigtails tacked on.U.T. Raptor wrote:She might be a little bit too detailed now, she sticks out a little next to Rin's sprite...
The uniform looks a bit rough, though. My take is that the new Emi art we've seen so far isn't final by any stretch, but (for lack of a better word) beta quality, and just needing some tuning to perfect. I am looking forward to our new, non-loli loli, and I hope we'll get to see some more updated art so we can watch her become more refined.

I just noticed that the lines are more pronounced, particularly in the creases and wrinkles of her clothing, but especially her knuckles. Will this spread across to the sprites for other characters?
Re: Emi's New Sprites
It's not a huge change really, but from the comparison at the top of the page she's definitely more consistent with the art style of the other sprites, especially with colord and gradients. However, the one thing that still doesn't seem to fit are the sketchy outlines -- especially around her eyes, where they're most prominent.

Re: Emi's New Sprites
Hohohohoho, oh wow.
Damn, she looks kinda... more aggressive now. She somehow comes off as a yandere who could go mental any minute with the slightest of provocation, and just pick up an axe and hack all the other characters to pieces in her anger, that kind of aggressive (I hope that her leg prosthetics don't come with weapon attachments ).
But having said that... It's not bad. While I slightly miss the old, happier and more positive looking loli-Emi, with this change her sex scenes at least won't look like child porn now.

I like the new spirit, but what's with the pointed chin?

Re: Emi's New Sprites
The old Emi had a pointed chin too, it just wasn't as pronounced.

It does look asymmetrical however -- it looks like a stray sketch line. The sprite needs small cleanups like that I think.coldacid wrote:The old Emi had a pointed chin too, it just wasn't as pronounced.

It looks to be a rather consistent "thing" though:Pimmy wrote:Well technically her head is turned slightlyCaesius wrote:It does look asymmetrical however -- it looks like a stray sketch line. You'll notice the right (our left) side of her jaw makes a sort of wavy shape while the left side is more straight.
I don't know if I'm being overly picky, especially considering the old sprite had more faults.

Re: Emi's New Sprites
Mabye the irregularities of the new sprite will be smoothed out with the next release. Even if not, still an improvment.
