so is that site all translation patches? or the full game?
Personally I have...issues...with DLing games for free that are available in English...makes me feel like I'm stealing (yeah yeah downloading ones not available in English is technically the same, but Japanese games are hideously overpriced compared to American games, and I don't feel like paying 18 bucks in shipping cost on top of that =x)
Hirameki translated and published quite a number of VNs but they went out of business (because of pirates like me no doubt, even though I only got into VNs after they went under).
since there is no way to legally get them anyway now I'd say go for it. ever 17 is the only one from them I know well though.
the rest are all translated by fansubs and the translators are mirror moon for example (FSN, tsukihime) are vocal about not wanting their work to be used with pirated copies though I've not cared much for that myself.
the site itself seems like it lists full games though. I've not gotten anything from it myself however. I just torrent everything I want, but this is a nice collection to choose from.
g-collections offers many translated eroge however, kana little sister being one of them. you can buy and download them from their store.
oh i know where to get plenty of H-Games (my sizeable collection on my computer and in my...secret drawer...are testament to that)
The upshot to some of the games that are translated though, is that many of them are available for download-purchase (for instance, Dark Translations endorses DLsite pretty heavily, even running contests with them) which is guilt free and quicker than torrent/IRC hunting.
And Jlist recently released a VERY limited quantity of Ever17 for sale

Just a random thought, why do we guys call it a "secret" drawer or "secret" stash when almost 100% of guys have the stuff. How the heck can that be "secret"?? Secret from whom? The women? They have probably been talking to each other and laughing at us men about our collections since the age of 12.
Well, if women can pretend they don't fart; I guess men can pretend our porn is a "secret".

Quartett.
Not because it's especially good or anything, but because it distinguishes itself from the mass and really manages to feel like something else, at least for some time.

A drug that makes you dream is also memorable for me as well -- The final scene for Nekoko was beautiful and satisfying, and so is Aeka's. Aeka's scene almost made me a diabetic from all the cuteness.

Princess Waltz -- Good to see another person who played this. Lun Lun was well done from my perspective as well. I did not initially think so, but as the game progresses, she became much more interesting than the others.
Anyone played Snow Sakura? It is very much slice-of-life-like, but the story is entertaining.

Is Quartett out already in English? *Mad dash to the website to check*

Second.
Though Yosuga no Sora also has a special little place for me due to being consistently quite good, with a very strong and well-communicated atmosphere coming through in every aspect of the game.
Edit: Quartett's not out in English. At least, not yet. The group that translated ONE and Gadget Trial is currently working on it.

In my case, I actually do have to keep it secret.
Despite being over 18, to save on rent I still live at home. My family doesn't know about my collection, and I'd prefer to keep it that way

I guess it was different in my house growing up. With my dad and 2 younger brothers it could get hard
finding a place to stash porn. All the good ones seemed to be in use.

I'm actually surprised. The only piece of adult entertainment my family ever found was my Night Shift Nurses DVD, cuz i mixed it in with my normal DVDs in a closet.
And my mom through a FIT when she found it...if she knew the vast majority of my computer's occupied harddrive was porn, the explosion would probably be visible from the moon.
Not that she should care, really, I'm 22 years old with no girlfriend, WTF AM I SUPPOSED TO DO?!

Explosion? No my Mom wouldn't explode. She would throw it in the fireplace and make you burn it. What sometimes happened was my brothers or I'd piss off my older sisters and they would throw out what they could find. Then we would be fuming, but its not like we could say anything about it.
Thread drift and I don't have anything to say to get back on topic about VN's so I should stop posting.

I liked princess waltz more or less, but indeed that was mostly thanks to lun lun. she's awesome. can't say I liked most of the other characters. I think it's mostly that annoying inverse trap that made me not like it as much as I could. and that eyebrowgirl. (*shudder)
same with snow sakura. I really enjoyed that one but still, I throw both on the big heap of "interesting porn games" and don't really consider them when talking about visual novels in general. discrimination I suppose
if this thread is also about porn games I could toss out a few other names of what I liked though
ah, I did mention one already before...

Suzushiro was a little annoying, but she completely redeemed herself in my eyes during her fight scene with Liesel. Of course I kinda have a thing for young-looking (but not necessarily young-aged) girls who can punch a hole in a brick wall and look bad ass while doing it.
Lun Lun just one-upped everyone by not only being a good fighter, having a youngish appearance despite being the oldest person there, pigtails, a humorous sidekick, and being a much better tactician (the only reason she lost in the first place was because Angela's a PSYCHO) than the rest of the cast.
Interesting note: She's as popular amongst American fans as Angela is amongst Japanese fans (there's even a Japanese Angela PVC figure...no Lun Lun though ;_; the only other character with a figure is Iris...who isn't even really a "character")

Fate/stay night and Tsukihime are the best two i've played, followed by saya no uta, chaos;head, clannad, and princess waltz (dragon princess ftw) respectively.

Ever17.
Saya no Uta comes a close second.

This topic took an interesting turn of events... >_>
Princess Waltz discussion is getting me a little interested in the game now. If only to know which girl is which.
That link looks interesting, but blah, IRC. Ah well. Guess I'll have to re-install.
Oh, Quartett is a game by Littlewitch? Didn't know that was getting translated. I'll have to look into Gadget Trial too, if it's by the same translators as ONE.
