How do you think you are going to estimate the download count? Torrents are going to come up quickly to help spread it around faster, and i'm assuming you can tell apart unique downloads. Also, I'd buy that shit.

Technically, all of the translations are fan projects. The devs have given them their blessing, and maybe a tiny bit of support, but as I understand it, they are largely on their own.

Damn, when I read the title of the post my stomach did a freaking flip!! I haven't been this excited about a game in a long time, especially after such a long wait. It must have taken a lot of patience and determination to make this and then release it for free, so a huge thank you from me

I hope sometime in 2012, after most of the dust settles, we can see some retrospective posts from most of the devs. (I'm a sucker for any kind of "Making of" documentaries and I love what glimpses into the process we've seen already.)

When you think about it, the story of KS would make an interesting long article, short book or even documentary film. You have a creative team distributed across the planet with different nations, time zones and languages involved. It seems so unlikely a project like yours could survive and create for this long...but it did and I'm sure glad.

I get off of a 21 hour plane trip, get 2 hours of sleep, stand around at a boring ass crowded wedding for 3 hours, then see this.
Everything is worthwhile.

And then we'd almost definitely see KS scripts pop up on the internet. Not to diss any of the translation groups, but all it takes is ONE person (see Hollywood movies). Upload something online once and it will be everywhere.

Wow, it almost feels surreal to have a concrete release date sitting in front of me. Four years of work... I freaking salute you guys for all your trepidation. What are you Devs going to do with all that free time?
