I've done something like this before... I call it Katawa Shoujo Solid. Hisao can hide in a cardboard box to avoid doing work for the student council, he eats rations for lunch, and he sports some binoculars and stealth camouflage in his pockets. And a bandana just to look cool.

I can't quite decide whether that's normal or just plain disturbing ....

Well, it was more or less born out of their clash in the chapter "Cold War" where the comparison is made. Mind, who is who tends to be pretty subjective from subject to subject.

In Shinzune's case, I think it'd be less of "Devil" and more of a "Devil's Advocate" - someone who'd respond to a point by adding a counter-point to promote inverted thinking or a differing perspective.
