It has been a while, but I definitely enjoyed reading Kana Little Sister. This visual novel has several plot relevant sex scenes, and they seemed well written. (Regrettably, I can't get my CD-ROM from 2002 to install on my current Windows 7 computer.)
And I also have a lot of positive things to say about Private Nurse. This is also a love triangle story, with one relatively unimportant character as another romance option. I like the music and character designs better than Kana Little Sister, but my main complaint with Private Nurse are the epilogues.
There's a heartwarming and plot relevant sex scene followed by several tacked-on sex scenes. It almost ruins the pacing.
A year or two later, I bought Crescendo. I'd call this one a harem drama, as there are five romance options. I was getting kinda weary of smut-and-angst stories, so I only finished one or two routes. Still, I double checked the reviews on Animetric and GameFAQs, and they were positive.
I thought that Edelweiss segued from wacky comedy to drama right around the time the main character picks a girl, and the sex scenes start appearing. The route I read wasn't bad. I should try it again with the recent Mangagamer re-translation patch.
A full fan translation for Kanon has been available for quite some time (though my security program detects a virus in the patch). Still haven't got around to finishing it... I know that Kanon still has respect in some circles, though Jun Maeda's writing on more recent projects seems to be improving.
I can't currently say much about the writing Suika, ef - a fairy tale of the two, the main Da Capo games, Quartett!, or anything Sono Hanabira. Anyone familiar with these?
