Is it me, or is Rin the only one who doesn't have a backstory? Even Kenji reveals information about his parents.

Well, her background is more or less unimportant to her route, unlike the others.

She does say that she didn't have friends, so she passed the time painting. I don't think much else is relevant.

I'll agree that it wasn't necessary for her path, but it did leave me curious. Still, it's fitting. Rin is an enigmatic creature and this is.. just another mystery surrounding her.

I think because of endless forum discussions, about Rin's parents, with Shimmies and all, we might have been trolled a little.
Or, rather the apropriate dev decided not to dispell anyone's hopes, leaving it a loose end.
