KS and Twilight

Post by Ivan The Mouse »

So yeah, if you surf 4chan, particularly /a/ or /v/, some people or trolls will say "KS is Twilight for grown-up men."

The funny thing is, I don't see any shred of similarities in the heroines of the cripple porn game to characters of the sparkly vampire novel series, aside from the fact that they are both fictional characters. If so, what's the rationale of calling KS as Twilight for weeaboos, aside from the fact that they want to provoke a flame war?

Why do you think trolls need another rationale besides that one?
If there was a rationale like that, people would use it to make an argument instead of posting stupid one-liners.

Pretty much that. That's just pointless flaming. Most Twilight critics are not *truly* about the romance in it; but how the shitty writer managed to ruin the vampire's legacy in fiction. Going from Dracula and his creepiness, passing by the marvelous World of Darkness and his goth-punk trash, glamourous, scary and desesperatly living setting, to a bunch of vampire teenager that don't even vampirize anymore, is blasphem.

So there is absolutly NO similarities. They just put pigs and swans in the same paddock.

Learn to not fall for obvious trollbait
Learn to not give trolls the pleasure

Hell, me being a huge KS fan, I even say "Babby's First VN" or "Twilight for Grown Lonely Men" just for kicks and trolling. I usually joking around and bash the game because I love it so much. Plus, I think if I bash somebody favorite fictional media, I think it's fair for somebody to bash mines. One of my best friend and I do it for fun because we know at the end of the day, we're joking and not gettin' buttmad (granted, my friend's jaded as fuck and think KS is trash but to quote a great movie "That's like, your opinion, man.")

That's because one way to troll is make shit up and wait for somebody to get offended. Besides, everyone knows KS fans are more like bronies than fans of Twilight.

This is absolutely true. I mean, come on, vampires don't glow in the sun!!! What the hell is that nonsense!

All fandoms share some similarities, really. There are always the fanatics that make everyone look bad, the closet fanatics that are polite enough not to annoy other people, and the people who like it casually.

I read the first Twilight book a few years ago for the sake for trolling my cousin about it. It was boring. Really, really boring. I can overlook grammatical errors and random stuff like that, but seriously. A story needs interesting characters (I don't believe that they have to be likable) to make people care about the plot. Not that the plot was any good either...

Perhaps the same could be said of all religions...

Twihards are just on a pedestal because of how ridiculously mainstream the franchise is, and the disparity between its popularity and overall quality, which the consensus seems to say is just bad.

Aye, you are correct, all fandoms share some similarities, but just saying, will anyone be surprised if someone shows up with a "Team Hanako" or "Team Lilly" t-shirt?

So KS is an example of substandard writing that disregards the usual tropes of its genre, promotes an unhealthy model of relationships, and attracts creepy people by the score?

Well, I suppose it does disregard many of the usual tropes of its genre, and there are some rather impressively creepy people among the fanbase. I can't really follow the rest of the comparison, though.
