I came across this video of this visually impaired guy who memorized the stages and used stereo speakers to navigate around Zelda OOT... I just thought I'd leave this here:

"If Hisao took one thing away from his time at Yamaku it was the fact that people who have handicaps don't actually have handicaps. People like Lilly and Shizune are more able-bodied and well-adjusted than most of the kids at Hisao's old high school. He shook his head slightly. No, students at Yamaku weren't handicapped; everyone else was." - WetCrate

I am impressed, to say the least. Who would have thought Navi could be so helpful?

Playing video games while visually impaired
Have you seen this http://www.oddworld.com/?p=394 ?
After reading it I thought, it would be great if game designers could create an audio only game. A fully voiced sound novel would be cool but of course the script, voice acting and recording equipment would have to be the best quality.
Thankfully I found these guys seem to have the same idea

That's cool and all, but can he beat the Water Temple?
Re: Playing Zelda game while visually impaired
This could come close, it's a game where the only visual is a dark screen, and you navigate by sound.
