Not exactly the best title for the topic.
But one thing I can add, is that this is the single best VN that I have ever made.
+1 to "not the best title for the topic ever".
Steam Deck verified, works good. Source: me ![]()

My own legacy.
While making OmOneko, we had serious concerns that AI generated games would take over before we could launch.
Even if they do, we'll still keep making them the hard way.
In the credits:
Reason #4: OmO gets my seal of approval.
First: THANK YOU!
Thank you for downloading and playing our game. Thank you for spending time with Shimi, Pepper, Clawdia, Goro, Veronika, the Waitress, and everyone else in the world we crafted for you. Thank you for recommending OmOneko to others!!
Thank you for your ratings and reviews and letting us know what you think of the strange world of OmOneko!
OmOneko has been seen by nearly 1000 people (combining the Steam and Itchio numbers), and the things you've told us have really made the journey worthwhile. Your feedback has been incredible. Thank You!
Next: BONUS New Library Update
A few punctuation and spelling fixes that snuck past all the editing and playtesting is a GREAT excuse for us to add a little bit of scope creep! We've updated the Extras -> Library from a list to a gallery with images:
Finally: More to come...
Yes, we are working on the... "big something" for you!
(won't say more, don't want to spoil)
Again, thank you for spending time with us!
(If you want to spend more time with us, we have a very mellow Discord.)
A little rainy, but that doesn't stop us from taking nekos to the park for some exercise!
Ok, so check this out...
If you didn't hear,
OmOneko got picked up by JAST!
Also, the reviews are AWESOME.
So Qs 4u:
Have you played it?
Are you planning to?
.
So apparently STEAM has some sort of ranking thing where games with a lot of reviews get more attention.
On Steam, the number of reviews a game has can significantly impact its visibility and how users perceive it. There are key thresholds at 10, 50, and 500 reviews that influence a game's ranking and the way its rating is displayed.
...
50 Reviews: Reaching 50 reviews allows a game to be considered "Very Positive" if it has a positive rating percentage between 80-94%. This threshold is important for a game to gain more visibility and attract a wider audience.
Not saying you have to, but if you'd like to drop us a review, by all means we'd appreciate it.
And tell your friends to do it too.
Maybe your parents.
And your pets.
Thanks for reading, here's a meme
Oh,
and when you play it
remember to
rate and/or review!
It's amazing how much a few positive words really helps us out!
(and makes the devs feel like all the effort is worthwhile!).
Here's the obligatory image:
Hold on, excuse me. XPND Dev is dead? I've known him since, like 2019 when we started working on a fan project that went to shit (because 4LS wasn't allowing us to mod it back in those days) and one of us caught a cease and desist, and the whole team went to bust (flaming, pointing fingers at each other, etc.) on who will be the fall guy. Essentially during this time, we were dedicated on creating a 'meme' KS mod, just a lighthearted one, but things went south with the discussion turning into far worse than what we both anticipated, then we were thrown a warning to stop immediately.
I'm planning on reviving the mod with the same team (they finally got their brains lobotomized to act like a decent human being for a change) and I was planning on bringing XPND Dev to oversee its development once again (though not sure what he'll think if he sees the same people again) and yeah, I feel bad and didn't know. This was probably the reason why he wasn't responding to my DMs years later. I finally have some closure on this one.
Rest in peace brother. I'm sorry if the shit we're about to make went down south before it can ever take place. I'll finish this KS mod in your honor even though I'm like, years late at this point.
Just leaving our DMs here to give you guys the summary of chaos we both were facing during this time in development. By the way, this is considered as 'mild' in comparison to what actually went down in our "brainstorming" sessions if you can even call it that.

Yeah, sadly XPND is no longer with us. He had supposedly released the material to finish a Saki mod or route, but that's kind of up in the air and the victim of some bad lack of communication.
I worked with him for quite some time on OmONeko. It felt really strange our last meeting together, saying goodbye and knowing that this was actually the last time any of us would hear from the man again. Then sometime after that, the message was passed along that he was gone. It was like having to deal with his death twice.
