this fic was really funny! everyone was really in character for a fic that has a very comedic premise, which adds a lot to it. plus, im a fan of anything involving shizune and misha.

Calamansi by kosherbacon.

We're going to look at a Kosherbacon story.

If you know who Kosherbacon is, I shouldn't have to tell you anything more. If you don't know who Kosherbacon is, let me tell you what you're in for. Better yet, let's have Kosher tell you.

KB writes smut. Very unique and often entertaining smut. There's even a plot twist involved in this one. And Yuuko. (Yuuko isn't involved in the plot twist. Akira is though.)

I realize this isn't everyone's cup of tea, but for what it is... it's something.

Can't say I remember having read that one, though I must have at some point... As twists go, this is one of Koshers more harmless ones.
The only thing that is worth mentioning is that the whole story - but especially the first part - was written way before the track shed scene was out...

I do love a good smutfic and this is classic kosherbacon.

Amusing final chapter although part of me feels he could have pushed that pairing a bit further. At the same time I understand not being interested in writing something that isn't interesting to you, particularly in a smutfic.

Re: Yamaku Book Club (Katawa no Tasogare [Twilight Zone Crossover])

In this story, Hanako is travelling through another dimension, a dimension not only of sight and sound but of mind; It is a dimension as vast as space and timeless as infinity. It is the middle ground between light and shadow, between science and superstition, and it lies between the pit of man's fears and the summit of his knowledge. Here, Hanako will find herself in the Twilight Zone.

Katawa no Tasogare by Episcia.

This is a crossover between Katawa Shoujo and a series that has no consistent themes, no set universe, and no-recurruing characters (unless you want to count the narrator). It's a hard thing to crossover. However, Twilight Zone often has a certain feel to it, which the author of this piece reaches out for.

Sadly, as this IS a crossover, it remains outside their reach, but knowing Hanako, her character, thoughts, feelings, and history, we're already give too much information to make a journey into the unknown really feel unknown.

The story here was left unfinished, and maybe that's even fitting in a Twilight Zone sort of way.

Christmas Complications by Stetson.

Christmas is over so it's time to look at a Christmas story. Okay, I might need to work on my timing a little bit next time.

Don't worry though, despite the innocent sounding title, there isn't a lot of Christmas cheer to be found. This is a dark story, full of mean, bitter, and angry people. It shows the cast at their worst and (with the exception of Mutou) all done in perfectly realistic ways.

The only fault I can see in the story is towards the end when Hisao explains everything that happens. I trhink leaving us a bit in the dark on some of the facts would have worked better, but even then, it doesn't do anything to lighten the bad mood.

I actually remember reading this one during a random archive binge a few years ago... I always thought the explanation of what happened was kinda necessary, as dark as it was, given how far off it is from what we know to be canon. Definitely a sad story, but I do agree that the portrayals for the people in the story were realistic, given the circumstances. Except for Mutou, for spoilery reasons.

Thank you. I was starting to wonder if anybody was still interested in doing this.

So maybe this next one will get a little more attention.

Dish Washing by Roxius

This is a pairing you don't see too often, and honestly, I'm kinda surprised you don't. It's an Akira/Yuuko story. The story was written before the game was released so you'll have to forgive Akira's character for feelingly slightly off. Also Yuuko calls her Akira-san at one point and Akira-chan at another.

Yuuko also stutters a LOT, even more so than Hanako usually does.

Plotwise, it reads very porn without plot except without the porn part. I think mostly I just like the pairing this uses. Also the closing line.

I have to agree, that closing line did wonders for an in my opinion poorly written fic.

What a shame I didn't read this piece before. When I saw Akira-Yuuko, I was like "That's something I want to see more, some all-girls action is always a good thing.". And I was right. Yuuko is at her Yuukoest, clumsy AF, and that's how I like her. A smart character, but with a clumsy side that takes over everything. Yamaku without our lovely clumsy librarian would not be the same. It's short, though, really short. It would have been better if it was quite longer. But I'm not complaining about it, because it's well-written. A short piece, but a good one. Now, I want more of this pairing. Akira doing lewd things with Yuuko could be a great thing, if it's well-written. And when I come to the last line, I'm SO disappointed that we don't have anything more about it. It was a pleasant reading though, Akira asking for a kiss just because she helped Yuuko for a bit is quite funny, it suits her quite well, and I like that.

I'm just a bit disappointed that the piece is that short. It would have deserved to be longer, but I'm just picky here. A good piece, even if it's short.

I was able to enjoy it. It wasn't the best written thing, but it made me laugh.
