So… what happens when you go overseas, adopt, then come back?
We don't. It's just not part of the norm.
There's a reason why we can maintain a 96% purity(?) rate

Also the cost of raising a child in Japan is pretty high.
Okay so lets review.
Saki went to the same catholic school as Lilly, and the two were friends. Saki is the girl who confessed to Lilly. When Saki was diagnosed she rushed out to loose her virginity, to the sensei Lilly had a crush on. This soured their relationship. Also a cane duel. Saki had sex with Misha at some point. Once Saki gets in a relationship with Hisao she takes it slower because of her past regrets. Depending on choices made in the game one of them might die much sooner than the other.
Now we need to work a best freindship with Rika in.
"Misha, I don't think Chocoholism is a real disability."
"But the School's Entrance Board does Hi-Chan. Wahaha~"

For some reason I can never see these two as best friends, I don’t really know why. I think because I have a Rika fic I want to write, my personal head cannon gets in the way.
I can, but only because of my rather extensive first hand knowledge of the subject.
That being said, one of my kinda peeves in fiction (and in porn, lets be honest here) is you can totally tell if a scene is written by a man or woman depending on who the target audience is. I'm afraid my attempt at lesbian erotica would be obviously written by a dude to appeal to other dudes.

And we're back.

"No, I really, truly haven't."

Of course, with a proofreader...
Lesbihonest here, there aren't too many females on these forums
If you don't believe in yourself, believe in me who believes in you!

That as well, but it also comes down to language barrier. You can try adopting, but good luck on making him/her integrated to society that is still *mostly* xenophobic.
Bilinguals (fluent ones) are rare. Not to mention, having a family is expensive so most people chose not to get married, get a load of money, and enjoy life

Sounds entirely too likely...Poor Saki. And poor brainwashed Lilly.
Right. Because no one can develop their own personal convictions without being brainwashed.
My headcanon for Naomi and Natsume is that they're totes gay for each other, but that's mostly thanks to this picture:

Hanako is completely oblivious to the nature of their relationship, however, until one night, during a hotel stay on their Kyoto trip, she walks in on them doing the deed.
"I wonder what is it about the rain?"
"Everything."
