In Audacity, speed changes both pitch and tempo (it's as if you were playing a 33 on the 45 setting). Tempo just changes tempo, leaving pitch alone.

In any case, I am partial to this particular nightcore version of ULTRAnumb that SpunkySix linked (relating to Shizune and Hisao):

Wait… aren't speed and tempo the same thing?

Speed is adjusting how long the song lasts, and also adjusts the pitch. Tempo is adjusting the bpm WITHOUT modifying the length of the song.

A 2.5 speed increase would result in the oft-used "Chipmunk" version of a song.

Even if it doesn't exactly fit, for some reason I'm thinking Lilly's route, somewhere between A Faraway Future and Farewell (regardless of ending). Also, animated by Mike Inel, so that's why the art style looks familiar.

Edit: Actually, I take where it fits into Lilly's route back. It fits in between The Momentary Present and A Faraway Future. That's when Lilly plays along, writing their song.

Goddamn, man. This one right here. I've heard about it while I started to play KS and listened to it throughout the whole game. Female locals are just divine, it reminds me of the game and its background and those dozen of characters that succeeded to make me feel empty after playing the game with only a small amount of picture-based animations. It was awesome.

This song is one that works really well for Hanako, at least for me. Especially reflecting how the two of them want to help each other but hold themselves back because neither really knows what to do.

Anything by Richard Cheese, particularly his more pop-based songs, reminds me of Rin just a little bit.

There's a certain semblance of normality and the way you expect the music to go, but it's just a bit... different. And it's good.

Music from KS itself of course makes me think of KS. I had my iTunes on random shuffle when 'Afternoon' came on and I couldn't stand it and had to boot up KS just to see those characters again. The other one is when time passes. Argh. A simple tune, but it evokes so much of KS because it's everywhere in KS.
