Thanks for the explanations; it's seems credible for me, of course it's obvious that Hanako scars don't have to be 100% realistic.; but i see how she can don't have a wing but scars on her face now. (and maybe her hair is not perfectly symmetrical, if the right edge of the scalp is damaged but if she pay attention to the length of her hair, it is also possible and don't need that Hanako mention this to Hisao, because it's quite minor)
I have never thought about, but it is true that it is surprising that she does not suffer from any problem of flexibility because of her burnt skin...it is mentioned in his sex scene ? Perhaps she is not too affected her joints and she has received surgery for better bend her right knee and her right elbow....after all it's mentionned that she spent some time in the service of large-burned...or I go too far in the requirement of realism.
I am a little more puzzled with the decreasing of the Hanako's Scars in "A Runner's Afternoon"; it's really possible ? if her growth could help, it should be less effective from 18 to 30 years than 8 to 18. (But I admit that I'm not a big fan of the reduction of her disability as a symbol of her strengthening, most disabled people don't get better physically so I find it a little innapropriate but I doubt that was the intent; but i want to say that it's just the only one false note in a masterpiece and maybe it's me who misjudges)
