Question about the Backgrounds

Post by Tomoko »

Hi!
I downloaded the demo not so long ago and spent many hours with playing all the routes through xD. The game was wonderful and very professional-looking. During the game play one thing really bothered me:
I keep wondering how these awesome backgrounds are done!
I guess they are all filtered photos(except the cgs) and I tried some watercolor effect in PS. But well, it doesn't look the same!
If the background artist isn't going to keep this secret into his grave, I'd really appreciate it to know how I must set the effects and filter to get a normal landscape photo look like the ones in katawa shoujo!
Thanks for reading!

I feel bad for nerds playing this game who get accepted into Brown. They'll jizz over the familiar locations and be unable to tell anyone why they're excited.

Indeed.

Photo + filter = background isn't an all too uncommon formula in VNs.

Incidentally, that little blue thing on the counter, that's the menu. Hisao just might belong in the blind class.

If you look VERY closely, you'll see that all that's written on it is "Shizune was here. Hisao is a loser".

I laughed pretty hard at this.

Then I realised that could very well happen to me.

I've got enough friends at Brown to justify an innocuous visit...

Damn we made it too easy for you all.

Do you know how long I spent researching Hinamizawa before going there? And how full of doubt I was until we climbed up that hill (apparently I went up there faster than humanly possible, even carryign my 15kg camera) and looked out over the town?

At least I know there are some locations in the game that you won't find so easily.

Damn, doing pilgrimages to Providence would be kinda creepy.
<Aura> would you squeeze a warm PVC bottle between your thighs and call it "manaka-chan"
<Suriko> I would do it if it wouldn't be so hard to explain to my parents
