Game just won't load at all?

I downloaded and everything was fine, but I go to open the game and a black screen comes up and says that it isn't responding? It did this from the first time I opened it, I went into the event viewer, and it said:

Hanging application Katawa Shoujo.exe, version 0.0.0.0 , hang module hungapp, version 0.0.0.0, hand address 0x00000000

Any idea of how to fix this?

The best bet may be to just redownload it.
