traceback.txt error

I just installed Katawa Shoujo again after 2 years and I had saved the RenPy folder from before I uninstalled it. It contains the save and persistent data. I Copied the files back in and load the game it was just how I left it and I could see all my saves. However, when I try to load a file it says "error cannot find traceback.txt file" and just exits the game. Is there a solution around this?

My guess would be because KS was updated to 1.1 and saves can't transfer over. Maybe it would work with the original release.
I found out about Katawa Shoujo through the forums of Misfile. There, I am the editor of Misfiled Dreams.

If you re-downloaded the game, then the save files won't work anymore as version 1.0 save files won't work with version 1.1 so you have to start from the beginning (the persistent file is compatible, so you won't lose anything you got from the 1.0 version).
