Maybe (and I'm only speculating), Rin is a secret member of the Addams family, and when the arms were aborted that's how they got the Thing? And then, when Rin popped out, they thought that Thing would try to clash with Rin (which it obviously didn't want to be a part of) and so they sent Rin to Yamaku to accommodate for Thing's sororicidal traits.
