Never a better time to learn than right now! Stick with it!abislpknt wrote:...You go out and spend ~$400 on a digital piano and a few accessories just so you can learn to play the music from the game..even though you've never touched a piano in you life..

I write the Kagami pseudo-route, which can be found here. It's about Hisao falling in love with a violinist.
Also, a small Saki/Rika piece I wrote.
Check out the Yamaku Library Anniversary thread! I contributed one story, but it's chock-full of 'em.
Also apparently I have an art thread now? I'm not an artist.
I also do edits! Need something proofread? Shoot me a PM and we'll talk.

Thanks for the encouragement guys! Figure after some good practice and learning how everything works, I'll hopefully be able to pull together something decent And I figure sticking with it is pretty much my only option at this point as the wife wasn't exactly too overly pleased with the price outcome, so it's either stick with it or face her wrath
Re: You have been playing too much KS when...
I know I've been playing and writing too much KS. I took a break to play this paper folding game called 'Kami'. The higher levels have five colours and you have to act to bring them into harmony to 'win'. Then I caught myself thinking KS...

One thing that really annoyes me is how people say they "play" KS. You play games and musical instruments. KS is neither

You also play videos and movies. You can play a role. And you can play the fool.Comrade wrote:One thing that really annoyes me is how people say they "play" KS. You play games and musical instruments. KS is neither

I love the interpretation of Pac-Man where he's a just a lowly worker retrieving golf balls left all over the course by the rich masters and the ghosts are all previous workers who got conked on the head and killed by incoming golf balls in the line of duty.

It has choices that define where you end up at the end. You can lose and you can win.Comrade wrote:Its a visual novel. Which you read.Potato wrote:Except it is.Comrade wrote:One thing that really annoyes me is how people say they "play" KS. You play games and musical instruments. KS is neither

It's a game.

It's a visual entertainment medium which consists of various characters, a storyline, a setting, a player character given a degree of agency within the setting, and (albeit loose) win/lose conditions. Sounds like a video game to me. My high score is 69.Comrade wrote:Its a visual novel. Also, I read tons of games. Voice-acting in games wasn't always a thing.
Incidentally, you've probably been playing too much when you regularly debate whether or not it qualifies as a game.
