A nice idea just popped into my mind a few minutes ago...
Wouldn't it be cool to have an epic Windows XP theme or Winamp skin with Katawa Shoujo?
A standalone theme that does not require Style XP to use. =o
Pros and cons pl0x.

Lol, that would be pretty awesome, but I think I will stick with my KS wallpaper for the time being ^_^
Re: Katawa Shoujo Theme
After some work I managed to gather some stuff up and tried to turn it into a Katawa Shoujo theme for Windows.
It's my first time doing this but it doesn't look that bad. lol
Didn't manage to find a tutorial to make a self-installing theme so you'll have to add the sounds, icons and the font manually.
To add the font, simply: press Start >>> Run >>> type fonts >>> hit ok / enter >>> copy & paste / click & drag the font file playtime2 into the Fonts window.
- Not sure, but I think you'll have to add the font BEFORE adding the visual style (the .theme file). -
I'm guessing you already know how to add the sounds and icons, right?
Double click the theme file Katawa Shoujo.theme to add the visual style.
It is made for Windows Classic style, not XP style.
Classic style suits Katawa Shoujo better in my opinion since the action and story revolves in a classical styled area (the school).
You also have the Katawa Shoujo wallpaper there, resampled into 1280 by 960 with a .bmp format if you want it.
Used images from the official Katawa Shoujo site for icons, sounds from the game BGM (cut music parts) and the in-game (nice one) font.
Anyway, hope you like it. :]

Thanks for doing this. I'll try it out later. I love how KS inspires these great fan activities; I think that 's a great sign of how it's made an impact on people.

No problem, still trying to find a way to remake the theme into something more efficiently and better looking.Teclo wrote:Thanks for doing this.
I could use some feedback and some tips if you have some higher knowledge and some time please.Teclo wrote:I'll try it out later.
Me too to be honest and I hope there are more like me.Teclo wrote:I love how KS inspires these great fan activities
It really made an impact on me.Teclo wrote:I think that 's a great sign of how it's made an impact on people.
I started to think lately (a lot) if I could love a disabled person out of pure love without letting the feelings of pity shadow my mind and heart.
Most people tend to like a person more when they find out something "bad" happened to the other person because pity is involved.
To be honest, I tried separating pity and love and the conclusion was that it's pretty hard not to let pity influence the love feelings.
Whoa... went off-topic here. lol

Re: Katawa Shoujo Theme - UPDATED
Any plans for something a bit more "deluxe", like the custom XP themes that use the patched uxtheme.dll? They don't have to be XP-styled either, like this vista re-creation: OB Windows Media Player 11 V3
Katawa Shoujo's resident straight male kuutsundere.
(because just "tsundere" makes people think of "Shana clones" *shivers*)

BAMP!
Ok, my wannabe theme sucks and the progress I made so far (not much but was consistent) went down the drain when my Windows got "trolled".
The fail's on me for not backup-ing. :/
Anyone care to try?
I'm taking a 1 month break from my PC. (vacation time)
