Well, she has friends, but probably none of the sort who'd invite her out to do things. And did she actually say she didn't like swimming, or was she just tired of Akira bugging her about her little swimming races?

Hisao isn't the only one who could use a bit of Emi's tough love.

She just doesn't seem to enjoy it. Understandable I suppose because of her blindness. Or maybe shes just never had a friend to go swim with.
Or maybe she just doesn't like swimming
You have to have a reason for not liking to swim. You can't just not like swimming.
I like swimming because, it feels like i'm flying, and the feeling of the water moving across my body. Feels awesome.

Everyone could use a bit of that. Things would get resolved a lot faster.

Not liking to swim is like not liking yourself. It's near damn impossible.

I can understand her not liking it. It could be that she's a little afraid, being blind and all. And like I said previously, Akira being a pest and always challenging her to swimming contest probably annoys her.

But even if she didn't I like to think she'd have fun if it were Hisao, or even Hanako she was in the water with. There are all sorts of fun scenarios that come to mind.

I don't see the logic in being mad at ones self.
You can be sad at yourself. But, being angry? No. I can't see it.

I swear I said something about swimming and being unable to see while swimming. It's not that great of a feeling, I can tell you that much. So, I can understand that.

I think you did at some point. But yeah, sticking to waist deep water, and having someone (Hisao) to hold her hand or just knowing they're close would probably be more comfortable and enjoyable for her.
