No robin I will never let you live that down.

and i watch reviews for the performances, not the reviews themselves ((nostalgia critic))
Careful, some people might.
And they sometimes have strong jaws (Me for example  )
And yes, Doug Walker is hilarious. I sat 5 feet behind him at a panel at ConnectiCon . It was awesome.

Yeah, I personally dislike reviews in general - I tend to disagree with those I happen to read the big majority of the times, and all the "good" they do is expose weaker points that just ruin the enjoyment for me xD
Also, it usually - though not always - feels to me as if "professional" reviewers believe their opinion counts more than the opinion of others, which is rather annoying :(
I have a friend like that, his main point as he claims that animes I like are bad is "I watched more animes than you did" :P
There is always something good in anything "bad", and bad in anything "good". Nothing is perfect (the second part) and very few works have utterly nothing redeeming. Look at the review, sift out the personal views of the review, and look at the technical facts.

What a coincidence that the topic turned to reviews. I've just been arguing with a friend over such things.

<Ascension>: "I laughed, cried, vomited in my mouth a little, and even had time for marshmallows afterwards. Well played, Xanatos. Well played."

"Dodges knife"

We watch.about 5 of them before we decide our opinion.

How did your argument go?

Some guy kept blathering on about how something was objectively terrible (ignoring the fact that the very premise of his argument was subjective) then listing subjective opinions as to why, and consistently failing to comprehend the meaning of "objective". As he puts it, critics prove his point as they exist to determine the objective shittiness or lack thereof of any product...Which begs the question why many disagree with critics and critics themselves do not hold unanimous views...Apparently though, something like "Sonic 06 is bad because [bad story, unbalanced difficulty curve, etcetera]" is as objective a statement as "Oxygen is required for human life."

...I liked sonic 06 story, first one where shadow got over his emo moments. I agree it was an unbalanced mess gameplay wise (the demo looked better!)

And that just proved your argument :P

Of course... It is the friend I mentioned who brands things as "bad" or "good", not me :P
And I don't really feel like I need reviewers to tell me these things xP
You usually have 2 main reasons to read/listen to reviews:
1. You enjoy them, or
2. you use them to decide whether or not to watch/read/etc whatever it is they're criticizing.
But with me, I don't actually enjoy them, nor do I use them in the way I detailed -
Through short research I can usually understand the general idea/style/atmosphere(/the "technical facts" you mentioned) of the reviewed product, and deduce, myself, whether or not I'm likely to enjoy it.
Experience tells me I know myself better than any reviewer :P
Of course, though, that this is just me. I don't work well with reviews... While many others do :P

Sorry if it was a messy and hard to understand tl;dr. My limited English vocabulary often leads to me expanding too much and using words that don't really fit, simply because I can't think of ones that do :(

Been there XD I've often had very similar arguments with friends :P

The feels, huh. I have no major case of the feels, I do tend to become mellow after spending my evenings on the game though. Recently, I am having a nasty situation though. After completing a few routes, (I started with Good Shizune, when I got for Emi I screwed and got Kenji, then I did Emi the right way) I decided to play the Shizune bad ending. For 100% sake. It was a slightly bad timing... Two good friends of mine got in a fight. I'm a guy, they are girls. Their behevior matches the Shizune/Misha situation a bit. One of them is mellow about it and isn't as smiley and upgoing as before. The other one surpresses the fight and goes on with her usual stuff. I am the guy in the middle who feels the tension. I feel bad about it. Not to mention there is an ominous tension whenever they are closeby, which to me feels like I get stabbed every time.

Also, the fact I did the Bad Shizune route right now also gives me a sad feeling. I agree with the many people saying the Shizune route is bad, but I like Shizune's personality out of most of the girls so far.

One of my friends is a bit like Shizune... She can be very mature and focused, but also sometimes let's her childish, playful side out. I have a bit of a crush on her, which hurts me more.
Shizune Good Ending > Emi Good Ending > Shizune Bad Ending > Emi Good Ending (again (and again)) > Hanako Good Ending (Now playing)

Punch them until they make nice.

Or, you know, sit them down and talk it out...

I'd suggest making them talk about it, but most women I've known will take things to heart what men will shrug off with a decking of the offender. Only thing I can say is get them both seperate discuss the fight with them and see if the argument means THAT much too them, or are they trying to save face

I don't think that will happen ... they more or less took 5 years outta there lives to make KS .. . and as far as i know they are not getting a dime for there hard work ... who in there right mind will spend another 5 years ( for free ) making a KS 2 with the same quality as the first KS
with enough passion for the story and time and dedication, it can be done again.

sure, you want to be paid for your own work that you produced, but sometimes you gotta start out small time and work your way up and you will be recognized.

although, i still would want to be paid if i was them. 5 years is alot of time that you wont get back... but god dammit it was a 5 years of feels being given to MANY people.

Honestly, many fans would do a sequel without pay...But the license does not allow it.

I'm going to go OT for a second here, just a warning.

Finally got myself around to doing Rin's route. I don't . . . . I'm not quite sure . . . . Rin was right, words suck sometimes. I got to the field of dandelions, and seeing her standing in the field looking up at the sky . . . . I need to go away for a while. There's a world out there. Just arrrrgh, I can't express all these emotions. What's that word for when you are at peace? Not the Zen kind where you think of nothing but you feel everything is going to all right. I've got that right now.

Content? Best word I know for that

I know what you mean I got that round about the the rooftop in shizune route, train home In. Lilly route, Just before the "birthday classroom scene" in hanako route.and the rooftop kiss in emi. But rins i only felt that at the end.

The train scene made me ship the threesome too.
