Which character did you get most attached to and why

I could relate to Misha because of her dedication to the people she cares for, along with her will try try and make people smile. I also had times where I could really relate to Emi.
You're gonna carry those feels.

Does anyone else think that one of the reasons for Hanako's popularity is that her route makes the reader feel good about themself?

Excuse me what VN with a character named Hanako did you play ?Draganada wrote:Does anyone else think that one of the reasons for Hanako's popularity is that her route makes the reader feel good about themself?

Possibly. I know a lot of people have the same feelings as she does. Shy, a little nervous about people because they've been mistreated in their lives. I helps give some of us the feeling that things aren't completely hopeless. And that even people like us can find hope and happiness, and that we're not bad people.Draganada wrote:Does anyone else think that one of the reasons for Hanako's popularity is that her route makes the reader feel good about themself?
Not to menntion the good feeling you get from helping another person. But you get that from any of the girls really.

I don't know about you guys but there were moments in Hanako route that made me feel like a FUCKING DIRT BAG. The bad end in particular.

My thoughts on this, however these thoughts are coming from a teenager who has barely any experience so ignore at will Also it's 1pm here and I need more tea.Draganada wrote:Does anyone else think that one of the reasons for Hanako's popularity is that her route makes the reader feel good about themself?
As a Hanabro myself I expected myself to be completely against this notion, however thinking about it I feel you may have some substance to that argument. I do like Hanakos route because she was so relatable but also completing her route made me feel good too, it made me feel as though I had just saved myself, if that makes any sense at all (It probably doesn't, but meh, It ties in with my thoughts as to why she was relatable), on the other hand it also tore me the fuck up.
But isn't the idea of "feeling good" subjective? The same could be said about many characters, people feel good about themselves for various different reasons. Some like to feel good about themselves for helping someone, whilst others like to beat challenges, it's up to the person what makes them feel good.
There ya go.

a few years ago i would have been in the same boat with all the "white knights" but i actually fin myself overly drawn to Lilly. Her confidence motherly nature coupled with her childish sence of humor that shines through. although my recent playthrough i found myself overly drawn to misha as well she is just someone id love to be around and would keep me happy even on a down day.
Re: Which character did you get most attached to and why
You too huh? I find myself going "Yeah, you tell him Hanako!" during that scene. But then she makes that face as Hisao is leaving and I feel awful again.MegaMoto wrote:I don't know about you guys but there were moments in Hanako route that made me feel like a FUCKING DIRT BAG. Glad to see some people open to the argument. I'm not trying to get anyone angry; it's merely an idea of mine that I wanted to bring up.
More specifically, I thought it might be possible that her route is something of an ego-booster, due to the idea that Hisao/The Player are able to look past Hanako's scars and whatnot whereas others aren't.
Please don't hate me too much for a simple theory. I would like to hear everyone else's opinion on such.

The same could be argued, to some degree, about each girl in the game. But at some point the difference between treating them respectfully for the sake of it and treating them respectfully for the sake of one's own ego is moot; one could just as easily say no one ever does anything good because he good, but only to make himself feel superior. I say: that way lies madness.Draganada wrote:I thought it might be possible that her route is something of an ego-booster, due to the idea that Hisao/The Player are able to look past Hanako's scars and whatnot whereas others aren't.

I didn't, I felt like I was being railroaded into being a dirt bag when I got what was wrong in act 1. Then I had to watch a bad case of "foot in mouth" syndromeMegaMoto wrote:I don't know about you guys but there were moments in Hanako route that made me feel like a FUCKING DIRT BAG. I think I'd be a great bro to Rin. I always had my mind wandering somewhere in the clouds, albeit I never successfully did something creative. I'd understand most of her hardly comprehensible smalltalk, willingly joining her in her delusions.
I'd hit on Misha, definitely. She's a bro, she's handsome yet not doll-like-pretty, she's determined and she's plump. And I never encountered anyone even half-close to Misha in my life (yes, I did encounter all other character lookalikes. I am even married to girl that is Emi on the outside, Shizune on the inside and with Misha's body. Yes, I am suffering.)
And I think Emi would be my bro as well, since I'd hang out with Rin anyway.
I find little connection to other characters, although I did enjoy their routes.
