Hmm,
What was she trying to do in the town at night?
Also, what was Rin doing at night where she was found in fetal position?

Any guesses?

When you run into her after shopping with Lilly, I believe she was on her own way to town for supplies... and promptly forgot about it. As for the fetal position, that was morning after -"I think I am going to go in a fetal position and throw up. Possibly in reverse order." Guess she did.

Aura already answered what she was doing. She went to go get groceries, but it slipped her mind. Also, the fetal position was her panicing about her mural.

Aw, Rin! ;_; The fetal-position thing made me wish want to pick her up carry her back to her dorm room. Or wake her up a bit and help her walk back herself.
