Thoughts on the H-scenes?

To be honest the first ones I saw caught me completely out of left field. After 2-3 hours of reading and no mention of anything remotely intimate, much less sexual (I started with Hanako by the way), I began to get the impression that it wasn't going to be in there at all. When the sex scenes finally did show up it felt pretty out of place, but looking back, they've really settled in for me and I feel that they ultimately weren't, especially for what they brought to Hanako's story and character.

I've been recommending KS to people, occasionally trying to entice my female friends by saying that it has 'nudity, yes, sex, yes, but no fanservice'... And I think maybe that's not entirely accurate, some of those scenes are pretty indulgent... Shizune, I'm looking at you. However, I still feel confident recommending it despite the sex even to my female friends, and I definitely think they work well for the story and feel more or less natural (at least, compared to 99.9% of other dating sims / porn games out there).

Also, I feel like the worst person on the planet for laughing as hard as I did at the censor image for Hanako's scene.
Shame on 4LS for knowing how goddamn funny that is. =w=

I recommended KS to my friends as well. The only one who actually downloaded it immediately started laughing when I told him about Emi.
To quote him "You have anal with a loli? Really?" I was like:

"That's not the point, and that scene is more comedy than anything else"

Hell, even Emi and Lily can be considered kinky. But yeah, the shrimp censoring for Hanako borders on black comedy.

Wait, they used Shrimp for the censor on Hanako's H scene? I have a dark/twisted sense of humor, so that'd probably make me laugh like a nut (probably worse than Hisao's amazing "I wonder if people discussing in sign language ever accidentally poke each other in the eyes."

From what I gathered, the image used to censor scenes is randomly generated. However, there is barbecued shrimp in the database. So, if that pops up for Hanako...

For weird prudes like myself, I can see the need for pre-emptive notices. Indeed, I do go mindless clicking during the H-scenes. Same with skipping such parts in fics.

I would have to agree that warning or mentioning the sex might be agaisnt the best interest for a proper presentation of KS. If the VN format wasn't so stigmatized maybe one could mention the sexual content without the fear people assuming it's porn-filled depravity but as things are now...
