Thoughts on the H-scenes?
Re: Thoughts on the H-scenes?
I'm doing Shizune's route next. I worry about what I'm getting myself into.
I actually found Emi's route the most refreshing. Her body is important to her, so it makes sense she'd be fairly active sexually. I just found the awkwardness of her scenes kind of endearing and sweet.

A lot of people don't really get her route. More still don't like it much. But enjoy.pandaphil wrote:I'm doing Shizune's route next. I worry about what I'm getting myself into.

Shizune's route when it comes to H-Scenes is well, rewarding to say the least. (her final one is one of the more well done, and if you remember how Shizune's reaction to Rin sleeping on the table, extremely hilarious). Her first one, well... it's effectively bondage (hands tied)pandaphil wrote:I'm doing Shizune's route next. I worry about what I'm getting myself into.

Re: Thoughts on the H-scenes?
I think Shizune's route was the longest one in the entire game... at least for me it felt like that. I was at 12 hours and some minutes when it was over.
It was fairly good and enjoyable. I felt really bad for Misha at the end because unlike the other girl's friends, Misha's problem wasn't fixed/solved or whatever. She just went back to being the shadow... a really loud shadow. Jigoro was insufferable and hilarious at the same time. The H-scenes at Shizune's house to me, felt kinda forced. It was like, one minute hes sleeping and the next surprise chairsex! The later H-scenes were just below Lily's scenes in quality I think.
I would give Shizune's route 8/10 stars.

Re: Thoughts on the H-scenes?
I'm a weird prude, so I tend to skip the H scenes real fast. Still, Emi's are funny, Lily's raised my eyebrow several times ("Healthy adolescent sex drive", indeed), and Hanako's just left me feeling "Girl, you need help." Shizune's first one gave me a facepalm which converted to a thumbs up (fully clothed sex, nuff said).

Re: Thoughts on the H-scenes?
I can accept that Hanako was 'ready for it' even if it was for the wrong reasons. But I got the impression that it was really painful for her. I'd guess the scar tissue around her lower body just wasn't used to being stretched and pushed in those ways, so it hurt. I thinkk that's what really upset me the most about her scene.
I hope next time they're together, Hisao takes that into account.
Although come to think of it, a scene with one or the other going to the nurse asking for help would be awfully funny, in a sweet sort of way.

Re: Thoughts on the H-scenes?
I don't think it was so much the scar tissue that was the problem, but rather the fact that if a woman's not relaxed before intercourse her vaginal muscules are tensed up and penetration/sex is painful even if she's properly lubricated. Hanako was many things at that point, but relaxed was definitely not one of them.
Sisterhood: True Edition. Hanako epilogue I wrote. Now expanded with additional chapters.

Re: Thoughts on the H-scenes?
You guys are forgetting that girls have a hymen... unless Hanako was sexually active, or had something bad happen to her, she still had it when she had sex with Hisao. It being her first time its going to hurt a lot, and probly more so since I get the impression that she is hypersensitive and scared of pain in general.
Re: Thoughts on the H-scenes?
You guys are really insightful and honest. Thanks for that.
I was searching for KS reviews last night and came across this excerpt. Sums up my feelings pretty well.
"Hanako has only one H-scene (in her Act 4), and it’s very uncomfortable both to read and look at. Very much needed for the route, but you could tell she wasn’t truly ready and just let Hisao do whatever he wanted to keep him around. She wanted sex but for the wrong reasons – I wanted to friggin’ slap Hisao for not picking up on that and just pushing himself onto her. It wasn’t rape, but holy hell, anyone could tell that she wasn’t ready. Even the background music during this part is Hanako’s theme, Painful History, showing that not all is well and she doesn’t really want this you idiot Hisao PULL YOURSELF OUT OF HER, NOW, NOW, NOW. This scene is the only KS scene where penetration is explicitly shown (in the style of ‘traditional’ H-games) and given the discomfort and the significance of the scene, it wasn’t too out of place."

Alas, Hanako and burn jokes go together like Lily and wine. Thankfully, in the game, she only has 1 scene.Eraser35 wrote:it was just gonna be another burn jokepandaphil wrote:You're both right. Maybe just a combination of all of the above?

Re: Thoughts on the H-scenes?
To be honest the first ones I saw caught me completely out of left field. After 2-3 hours of reading and no mention of anything remotely intimate, much less sexual (I started with Hanako by the way), I began to get the impression that it wasn't going to be in there at all. When the sex scenes finally did show up it felt pretty out of place, but looking back, they've really settled in for me and I feel that they ultimately weren't, especially for what they brought to Hanako's story and character.
I've been recommending KS to people, occasionally trying to entice my female friends by saying that it has 'nudity, yes, sex, yes, but no fanservice'... And I think maybe that's not entirely accurate, some of those scenes are pretty indulgent... Shizune, I'm looking at you. However, I still feel confident recommending it despite the sex even to my female friends, and I definitely think they work well for the story and feel more or less natural (at least, compared to 99.9% of other dating sims / porn games out there).
Also, I feel like the worst person on the planet for laughing as hard as I did at the censor image for Hanako's scene.
Shame on 4LS for knowing how goddamn funny that is. =w=

Hell, even Emi and Lily can be considered kinky. But yeah, the shrimp censoring for Hanako borders on black comedy.Banryu wrote:To be honest the first ones I saw caught me completely out of left field.
