If I could have such a thing, I would. Emi would just get upgradeable legs.

I'd make Aigis from Persona 3 and we'd run around talking philosophy. Then I'd make Ezio Auditore because I am not losing the chance to hang out with the chillest badass ever.

Congrats to the OP for making me agree with Silentcook. You have done the impossible.

Anyway, is it really that hard? It doesn't HAVE to include disabilities in it--we look at them as characters and not because of their disability. It's sick in its own regards to create something with the expectations of carrying its 'mother-traits' with it (e.g. blindness, deafness, etc.); frankly it baffles me some of you actually think that way. What's so difficult about it? And how is this different from "if you get stranded in an island who would you want to be with" or "if this entire board is yamaku high" etc? :?

The possibility is limitless.

I'd build a Silentcook AI so it could follow me around monitoring my daily conversations and warning me sternly when I veer off the intended topics.

Okay, let me explain why the whole scenario you've created is horribly flawed.

First the standard "if you were stranded on a dessert island" already implies some fantasy. In those scenarios, you're accepting that the characters already do exist and have lived their own lives. Your scenario isn't "Would you like to hang out with Rin?" You're asking, would you like to create Rin for your own personal pleasure? Which is pretty creepy by itself. Then you also clarify that the "person" you're creating isn't going to be a real person at all, just a robot designed to imitate the life of one. This brings the creepyness up a notch. On top of all of that, you're either creating a "person" (or something incredibly like one) and purposely crippling it OR deleting the hardships the character has endured which defeats the point of the whole scenario to begin with. How people handle adversity help define who people are. Think about it. Would Hanako be so shy and have such self esteem problems if she wasn't burned? If you're making a non-burned Hanako, what's the point of "creating" her as Hanako? Now you could say that you could create her personality exactly the same and not give her scars, but at this point you're just cherry picking the traits of characters you like.

It's kind of funny, if you think about it.

it depends

is it an AI, like Cortana where it is just something i can see and hear? or is it like Saati from A.I. Love You where it is a physical being, just artificial?

the former i think is kind of meh. if i wanted to simply talk to an AI i would just talk to Cleverbot. the latter however opens up new possiblities of possibly having some practice with dealing with other 3D girls, or someone to help me out with stuff, or smexy times. for that Rin all the way. with arms. or without, doesn't matter.

Hmm, you're right. It is flawed.

But is this discussion supposed to be this complicated in the first place, or are you just doing so to ruin what possibly can be a discussion?
It's a simple premise, really
-Either you would actually go against the norm and create a 'fantasy' into a 'reality'
-or if you prefer to flow with the rest along a stagnant river and bury your chances forever.

When you think about it, it almost reflect to the origins of how KS is created in the first place. The devs for this VN defied the original perception of the masses of it being 'just another porn with cripples' and create a fantasy into a realty; a game that was jokingly conceived by RAITA evolved into a full-fledged tear-jerker that gained the respect of many. It isn't that much different to how you approach this one--create what is a 'fantasy' into a 'reality', or stick with the masses and disappear in wave of stagnation. 8)

Personally I'd create them with or without their disability. They're sentient, so in time I'll open up to them as equals and not as machines--the rest may come in time; disability or without, doesn't matter.

Is not a actual person and it was build from scrap, you can implant false memories on your replicant Hanako. For all effects it would be like a real copy of her, now the real creepiness is:

Does it feel? Can it be considered sentient or just a high tech sex toy (since the OP made clear it is "anatomically correct"). If you count her feelings as real then you have to face the fact that you are keeping a "real" live person as a sex slave or you are mind raping someone into loving you. Nice eh?

If you count its feelings as fake you and you just use it as a high tech sex toy and personal secretary, good on you, son.

Man, if Hanako finds out you're directly responsible for her scars and completle lack of selfesteem, you're never going to score.

On one hand what you say makes total sense.

On the other hand, how many disabled people love and worship God (or a god)? There is a lot.

So this discussion is bordering on Diety territory. Based on the initial premise, you could make a "damaged" replicant and program it to love you even though it has the knowledge that you made it damaged on purpose. Which is not that different from reality. But then that raises the question -- can you program something to love you, by definition?

Who even said I want to score? If that's the sole idea of creating it why bother when you can go to Akiba and buy a tenga or something similar--not to mention in cheaper cost. As sentient beings come, time itself will work its magic and everything is relative. If that's the first thing that comes to your mind, I don't know what else to say but a facepalm.

Hanako decides to go outside? Sure, why not? She found someone else to love? Go ahead. They demand how they came to be? Sure, I'll tell them face to face. Shizune decides to take over the house? Now that I'll reconsider.

The point being is how you end up seeing them after the initial process--as expensive objects programmed deliberately to love you, or as an equal where both of you can learn through the tights, ropes, and barriers that once existed in between. It's something like doraemon a bit; you created something out of a 'dream', now the rest is up to you to make it into a reality.
