Spoiler code not mobile friendly

The spoilers on this board require you to be able to select page text with a cursor, which is not possible in Safari on iPhone or iPod Touch. Conversely, the spoilers on 4chan allow you to press and hold them to make them appear. In web geek terminology, there's an event and JS associated with the spoiler style on 4ch. Is this something that can be tweaked in PHPBB?

I've seen forums where spoilers are hidden by a button. That might work. People used those to compact massive sigs, too.
