Re: Ruthenium: Hisao Vignette (AtD One-Shot)

Dokuta-Fu Every time I see one of these terms, I want to stab someone in the face with a salad fork. FFS just say 'Doctor Who', instead of either completely confusing your audience, or forcing them to Google something utterly inane and irrelevant. How the hell has nobody commented on this as yet? I...

Re: Yamaku Book Club

There are some basic rules to Rin dialogue, I think. First, she has a tendency to take everything literally, so her responses are usually exceedingly logical, factual, and sensible on some level; when she starts going off on tangents about seemingly random things, they aren't really that random - th...

Re: AtD—Emi's Arc (Part 3 up 20140311)

What she can’t quite get used to is that can be rather cool, sometimes chilly, even on the beaches. This is missing an 'it' somewhere. Also, if this is a reflection, shouldn't it be in past tense? As dewelar said before me, this is a vast improvement. The narrative is cleaner, it doesn't lose track...

Re: After the Dream—Emi's Arc (Part 2 up 20140310)

“You going to join me on morning runs again?” Emi is likely to use the contraction 'gonna' here, as opposed to the more formal-sounding 'going to'. [Rin's] been my friend for so long, and now her idea of communicating is sending me weird—well weirder than usual—texts in blocks of four unrelated wor...

Re: I want to make a Psuedo-Route

Or maybe he's gone and done what I did, and decided not to post as I write. I hate retconning stuff after people have already seen it. Same here, but it doesn't seem to be a very common trait and not one I'd associate with someone who posts an intention to write a fic before actually writing one. B...

Right, but this story puts Suzu in a brain box, basically - not necessarily by choice.

Re: Yamaku Book Club

On the bright side, at least Suzu didn't end up being her cybernetic limb in the end. Who knows, though, right? What if Miki gets back and they discover that Suzu's body has succumb to some kind of advanced ataxia that renders her completely paralyzed, even if she does wake from the perpetual coma....

Re: Roles played

Could they have been evil orphans? No, sorry, Lilly. They were all potential SeeD candidates, and you murdered them in cold blood. For the sake of argument, I'll say it's unlikely these six would casually find themselves in a room together, but I can suspend my disbelief for a little role-playing h...

Curses! I don't think the fireman story is on the page and one of the rules is not external links . . . . . Would anyone be adverse if we read it? It's pastebin. Mehkanik maintains an archive of KS fan fiction on pastebin. There are a LOT of things there that have never been mirrored here, and I do...

Re: Reunion - A Hanako Bad Ending Epilogue

With Lilly's departure a mere 4 weeks or so away and the lack of a classroom that they both have to attend, I think avoidance is feasible. Good points. You forget, however, that they live across from each other in the dorms. Even assuming Hanako made an effort to avoid Lilly, she would have to retu...

Outlining long-form fiction.

A few guidelines for when you've exited the character and world-building stages, and are starting to compose a general outline. 1. Be vague. The only person who should ever have to see your outline is you, so it's really more like jotting down notes than writing anything composed. It doesn't have to...

Re: Reunion - A Hanako Bad Ending Epilogue

Okay, let's start with the premise: Hisao and Lilly both completely cut ties to Hanako following her outburst. That's... ridiculous, especially in the case of Lilly. Maybe Hisao would keep his distance afterward, but Lilly would have sought an opportunity to hear Hanako's side of the story, at least...

Re: Ask!

Being an avid reader of Holmes' stories, I can't really say I see the connection. Also, Holmes, most times, IS logical. Not just in his mind. But I dunno xD Yep, but nobody understands their logic. If you actually pay attention, Holmes' logic is perfectly clear. Kenji, however, drifts off on random...

Re: Ask!

I finished reading "A Study in Scarlet" (for real, I finished it like 10 minutes ago), and since I started reading I felt that mr. Sherlock Holmes was familiar, but I couldn't place how. Just as I finished I remembered that he is very similar to Kenji. His sudden mood change and his 'logi...
