Re: For Want of a Nail - Misha Route (Happy Birthday, Misha!
Believe it or not, this was supposed to go up about a week after the last entry. But life happened. Similarly, I intend to use NaNoWriMo as an excuse to continue and eventually finish this, but I don't want to make any promises and get anyone's hopes up (that and the 30-day total of 30k words only t...

Re: For Want of a Nail - Misha Route (Updated 4-1-16)
A rhythmic series of beeps, clicks, and whirrs. Either I'm still alive, or heaven made an extremely short-sighted decision when trading in their harps for something more modern. I'm betting on the former. I open my eyes. As expected, I find the depressingly familiar features of the nurse's office. I...

Re: Yamaku Book Club (Happy Anniversary, KS!)
What do you think have been the most convincing 'spinoffs', or the most painful? Hard to really properly categorize "convincing" or "painful". On the one hand, I don't think many fanfic writers have managed to capture the "voice" of the VN, but a good majority haven't ...

Re: For Want of a Nail - Misha Route (Updated 4-1-16)
Wow... This makes me afraid to become unconscious for any reason anywhere near where this is taught... Glad I'm a continent away! I wouldn't be so sure. In particular, note the pictographs in pp 85-88 and the section on risks in pp 91-92 First, the patient being "unresponsive" is extremel...

Re: For Want of a Nail - Misha Route (Updated 4-1-16)
I know we're kind of going down the rabbit hole here, but the more recent comments you've been making are simply wrong (or outdated). I would be inclined to drop the subject, but discussion of CPR for the layperson is a bit of an always necessary public service announcement. http://heart.arizona.edu...

Re: For Want of a Nail - Misha Route (Updated 4-1-16)
All this is correct. The problem is that Hisao is your narrator, and since he is able to narrate all the stuff about Misha giving him CPR that means that he is conscious at the time. Sure, Misha could have mistaken him for being unconscious, but he seems to at least have his eyes open and be follow...

Re: For Want of a Nail - Misha Route (Updated 4-1-16)
In that case CPR is probably still premature but given that Misha is also not a doctor I don't expect her to know that. In a weird roundabout way it's actually kind of logical. Wrong, but understandably so. Of course, Misha is no doctor and can be mistaken about what kind of measure is appropriate....

Re: For Want of a Nail - Misha Route (Updated 12-25-14)
The rest of the morning went by just like any other day. The more I think of it, the more foolish it feels that I expected anything else. Now that finals are over and the break is just around the corner, everyone seems even less interested in class than normal. Even the teachers are a little apathet...

Re: Which friendship will last the longest?
Okay, I think I'm going to have to be the dissenting voice here. At least partially. As above, each pair essentially has three possibilities - Hisao Choosing Girl A, Girl B, and neither. Emi & Rin (Rin Route) - Always tricky when it comes to Rin. In the good end, assuming Hisao had the chat with...

Re: Yamaku Book Club (Meeting Resumes—[Jigoro/Hideaki])
Ah, Jigoro. So much can be said of him, and so much has already. Much by me. Unfortunately, I'm a bit behind on reading the fanfics concerning him. And I'm not much better when it comes to Hideaki. I at least have a meager contribution as far as fics go - Hideaki's had a couple (minor) cameos in FWo...

Re: Yamaku Book Club (Meeting Resumes — [Shizune])
You left out Akira. I'd actually do her next, and then move into Lilly. I'd also put Yuuko and Kenji next to each other, since there's going to be some overlap. Akira/Lilly then Yuuko/Kenji then Nurse/Emi then Nomiya/Rin? The more I try to puzzle out the "best" approach, the more cross-ey...

Re: Yamaku Book Club (Meeting Resumes — [Shizune])
This is possibly going to shock some of you, or perhaps not. It might amuse some of you instead. :) (Stuff) Well, that actually gives me significantly more incentive to push the series up my "to read" list. Sounds like an interesting approach, at least. Regarding the Misha discussion (sin...

Re: Yamaku Book Club (Meeting Resumes — [Shizune])
brythain's Shizune's Story, nominated because: "this is easily one of the most chilling, soulless incarnations of Shizune I've encountered" as one forum regular commented. (Needless to say, I don't agree, but YMMV... :( ) Well, having been called out without being named, I guess I should ...

Re: The routes: Art Vs. Craft
Can't say I agree much with those definitions, but discussing art is always going to be a fuzzy topic. Personally, my preferred idea of how to score art (insofar as you can do such a thing), I'm inclined to favor the method introduced (and mocked) in the movie "Dead Poets Society" (which, ...
