Re: Emi inspired running/workout
Yeah, I could hear the desperation in her voice. It's definitely serious. But I'm skinny as a rail, and losing a whole bunch of weight is a much different situation. I can't just make her start running with me. So that's the kind of advice I'm looking for; from somebody who has been in that situation.

Re: Emi inspired running/workout
I've got a question for some of you here. I know I've heard a few people here who had a LOT of weight to lose who were successful in that goal. Well, I've got a friend who is in the same situation, and I'm trying to help her with it. However, I'm less familiar with the situation she's in. So for ...

Re: Emi inspired running/workout
Hey. How have you guys been? Quite some time since I've posted in this thread. I haven't checked it or posted regularly since the first week or two of C25k. That was about 7 months ago. Now I can run 5 miles and have more muscle than I've ever had in my life. It's a nice feeling. I feel a hundred ...

Re: Emi inspired running/workout
I can't run at midnight because I work at 8 am and I'd never get to sleep afterwards. I probably would if I had a free schedule or if I was put on night shift regularly, though, since I tend to run around 7-8 pm currently.

Re: Does KS really cause Manly Tears
The feels are stronger than the tears for this one. I got watery eyes once (maybe twice) for each route, but it's nothing compared to the week or so of spiraling thoughts and solemn moods.

Re: Emi inspired running/workout
Ran up to the North End pier and back, which turned out to be about 2.25 miles. Didn't have a stopwatch with me, so I didn't think I'd go far, but the entire thing was much easier than any other attempt so far, which I attribute to actually eating + drinking properly throughout the day. Overall, it ...

Re: Emi inspired running/workout
I want my ankles to stop hurting. They probably would've healed a week ago if I hadn't tried to ignore it. :L Whoa whoa whoa. Never ignore an injury, no matter how small. As soon as something doesn't feel right you should be cautious and not push yourself. After all you can cause more bad than good ...

Re: Bashing a KS basher.
The easiest way to deal with these kinds of people online is to . . . well, you know. Ignore it.

Re: Emi inspired running/workout
I would suggest easing into it, though. Try running for 32 minutes, then 34, and so on (or something like that). After like two weeks, give it a shot.

There's the "bridge to 10k" that's also posted in this thread, but it seems as though you would want to make sure you're completely comfortable with 5k first.

Re: Emi inspired running/workout
The "runner's high" feels a lot better to me than a weed high ever did. Then again, that may have been because I overdid it last time I smoked. Update on my ankle: feels about the same after the run. There was a bit of hesitation, but once I got into it, I didn't notice it much. The run was ...

Re: Emi inspired running/workout
Just got off work and planning to run today. I'm still a little unsure about my ankles, though. They don't hurt at all when I walk (aside from the usual "after work" aches as I'm walking home), but they're sensitive if I press my fingers in a certain spot ( here ). When I'm on my feet, though, it ...
