Re: How do deaf people think?

You've interpreted it incorrectly. I'm consciously thinking in words, just not in my own voice or any voice I know but in a 'neutral' voice. I stand corrected, thanks. Which made me a little bit interested, what does that 'neutral' voice sounds like? I mean, like words flying around? Kinda' curious...

Re: How do deaf people think?

Eh, come to me in 'meatspace' then and see who is more disruptive. If you're going to threaten me, at least make some effort to be more straight-forward about it. This is just the sort of thing I'm talking about. The amount of their lifespan people waste learning to talk themselves in circles and l...

Re: How do deaf people think?

Eh, as far as I can see the disruptive people here are the retards like you. This is the internet, not meatspace. Different rules, different results. What is or isn't disruptive in meatspace is quite different to its equivalent on the internets. The tendency for most to be terrible at playing one-o...

Re: How do deaf people think?

Soticoto, the only evil person around here is you. *plonk* So I keep getting told, but it isn't like "evil" means the same thing from one person to the next, is it? There isn't really much point to the word at all beyond conveying displeasure at something. Anyhow... deaf people are just n...

Re: deaf people think?

Pure evil, probably. I've always disliked deaf people, as a general concept (I'm sure there are some I wouldn't mind on a one-on-one basis)... Not because they can't hear, obviously, but for all the other crap that goes with it. They're pretty much the antithesis of several things I hold quite key ...

Re: An odd revelation

I think that the idea or the policy that consent must be voiced verbally at every step to be valid is simply wrong headed. That would just really suck for Shizune. And if you don't see where Japanese morals/culture come into play then you don't have any idea how different cultures can color the per...

Re: An odd revelation

@Guest Poster: Even though he might appear to act the same like I do, Hisao has a different history and character. And the whole point of my initial post was not to discuss the difference between Hisaso and me, but just to say how I would've felt in that case... I don't get why you keep dragging His...

Re: A Personally Necessary First Post

I have to agree, this VN is unique in the way that it has an excellent story that keeps me interested. I've played all paths that I've been interested into, which is something I don't do in games (playing perhaps twice through the storyline, rarely more often than that). I wouldn't mind if 4LS decid...

Re: How do deaf people think?

.. I think it's an excellent post. Like I said before, the interesting thing about KS and signing is that we're only getting stuff that's been translated into grammatically correct English. Because we're not seeing complete facial and body movements, we're sort of dependent on the translation to un...

Re: How do deaf people think?

@Dawnstorm: 'Normal' Dutch has articles (the = het/de and a = een). But there are no signs for those in Dutch Sign Language, as well as grammar difference between Dutch and Dutch Sign Language (like in ASL it is (time) (subject) (action) as opposed to "I talked to that girl yesterday and she l...

I'm basically Shizune, being deaf (though with hearing aid and cochlear implant and not mute).

Re: An odd revelation

I don't call it rape either but if I was in Hisao's situation I wouldn't feel good about it if I found out she was having the sex because she thought that was the way to tie me to her (partially because it wouldn't be but my moral compass is another reason). I'd rather have sex when she's intereste...

Re: An odd revelation

I'd rather have sex when she's interested into sex as well. Oh, definately, and that's what made the scene uncomfortable to watch. I think her 'sacrifice' was a rationalization made up on the spot though, not something she in any way planned. Oh, and the first Shizune scene bothered me too, as even...

Re: How do deaf people think?

Hmm...interesting question. Our mind is made up of conscious and subconscious elements, and it's often geared to how we see the world. So if its the blind for example, they'll think through sounds or voices so it's not much of a problem--we think that way too. What about the deaf? Someone earlier s...
