Re: Hanako's Broken Heart Club

Heh, I agree on the 'no-pity-pl0x' part. I'm content with where I am right now. There's no point feeling pity for me because I'm deaf, I managed to go further than most peers I know. I'm at university, doing what I like. I got plenty of spare time (though deadlines can be a pain in the ass as Emi kn...

Re: Hanako's Broken Heart Club

@Redbullet612: Yeah, it is easier to tell the story to random strangers on the internet whom you probably won't meet in RL. This also means you probably won't alienate your friends/family with your thoughts... It is the same for me in that regard, that only you guys know the full story. My parents o...

Re: Lessons Learned from KS

Conversations in Sign Language (Any, take your pick) are more meaningful than regular conversations for the most part. That I can draw pretty well, and it's a talent I'm now starting to develop. Conversations in SL isn't necessarily more meaningful than regular conversations. You're viewing a story...

Re: How do deaf people think?

No, I agree that having some code in your head is vital. What I meant - and what "concept" perhaps wasn't conveying - is that you can't think in words and sentences all the time because it would take too long! Driving a vehicle, cutting up food, you think about what you're doing but you d...

Re: How do deaf people think?

What we (or at least I proposed this stance) actually said was that we subconsciously think in concepts, your conscious translating those concepts into your preferred language. The language you use is just a representation for what concept you really meant. Myself for example, I think in two languag...

Re: How do deaf people think?

Interestingly, this question came up in the newspaper. There it was answered by a deaf person (one born and bred as a Deaf, learning Sign Language early on). He said that he thought in Sign Language and then if needed translates everything.

Re: Hanako's Broken Heart Club

I have to agree with Camoufrage on pushing yourself with getting friends or getting help. One thing I learned myself was that good social contacts don't come automatically. I have to work for it... Last Friday I went bowling with a good friend from high school as well as a buddy from university. It ...

Re: Hanako's Broken Heart Club

Why does everything appear boring to me? I've never been an emotional person, but lately I just feel empty. I am often sitting at my desk or laying on my bed and stare at the ceiling. And that for hours at times. Well, I didn't start recently doing that but I definitely do it more often now. I have...

Re: HD (resized) screenshots [Spoilers] [updated 3-5-12]

That is what I was implying with 'let me know', PMing me ;) Ahh, sorry. Misunderstood. :? Anyway, I've done a little revamping with the thread. Added widescreen versions for all images, and made the previews a bit smaller. (Should they be made even smaller?) Now the thread should be easier to view....
