Even so, Hisao just coasted and let Lilly handle things and just trusted that she was being honest or she knew what she was doing, kind of rolling over at the first sign of trouble and not even realizing Lilly actually wanted to stay but was afraid of asking. ...am I the only one who doesn't even care what the big secret is? I'm just perfectly content to forget all about that lingering plotline between updates and enjoy each chapter as a self-contained nugget of hells yeah.

As much as I want to just enjoy this chapter for what it is, there's too much inevitable doom hanging just out of reach to ever feel comfortable. Bittersweet is too light a word to capture it.

Quality stuff here. It's perhaps a bit much to make Hisao so blatantly unhisaoish, but the conversation at the end is awesome enough to justify it. Agreed, she does seem to be talking much more 'adult' in fashion than is appropriate. Heck, she almost seems more mature than she is 8 years later.
