Re: Emi inspired running/workout

Hey, Emi-Runbros. Just saw this thread and figured I oughtta post, since I'm planning on starting a new exercise habit as soon as I finish shaking off my cold. I even went and bought new sports headphones and an arm-band holster for my iPod, so I know I'm serious this time. :D Haven't read the ...

Re: Emi inspired running/workout

Still here, mostly lurking. I'm a little bit disappointed with myself in that in my runs after finishing the program, I still haven't pushed myself for the full 6k. Part of it I blame on crazy schedules, running in the morning after a lousy dinner, weather, etc. I'm thinking about finding a new ...

Re: Emi inspired running/workout

That reminds me: it may be somewhat obvious, but as soon as you get back from running, drink some cold water, and then shower immediately. Like before you even sit down. The water will replenish the hydration you've lost from your workout, and the shower will do wonders to wash away your exhaustion ...

Re: Emi inspired running/workout

The first post also has the Emi-flavoured stretching guide which I found handy. There also appears to be some playlists for your listening pleasure. Props again to HurricaneHarvey for keeping it all together!

Re: Emi inspired running/workout

*snip* Welcome back! I think I'm pretty close to where you are in terms of speed albeit a little slower than that. I'm also currently trying to get 6k in my 30 minutes. Awesome find on the nature park, sounds like an ideal place to run. A huge congratulations on getting accepted to your uni course ...

Re: Emi inspired running/workout

Double high fives all around to the other EC25K finishers! I absolutely intend to continue running three times a week while trying to kick up my speed. I've said before how I prefer running in the mornings, but I've noticed that whenever I run in the afternoon I seem to perform better. Oh well, I'll ...

Re: Emi inspired running/workout

My only (rather modest) goal is to get a bit healthier. Perhaps I'll acquire more of a taste for it as I go along. This is what happened to me. Back in the day I was like, "Exercise? Pffft forget about it!" (note: read that in the worst 1920's American gangster accent you can muster). However, as ...

I will, but not right after I finish C25K. That's a kind of time investment I have to work around as opposed to running around my current schedule.

What's the difference between repeating W9D2 and moving on to W9D3? =O
The difference is my stubborn nature :P Also, it works out for me better in my head that the program end on a Friday.

Re: Emi inspired running/workout

Also, how do you guys measure the distance that you run? I've been relying exclusively on time with my stopwatch up until now, with just a vague idea of how fast I'm running. I've been "measuring" with Google maps satellite view and tracing my path out. Luckily, the trail I run on is a common area ...

Re: Emi inspired running/workout

re: running in the mornings~ I try to run in the mornings when I can because I generally like the morning people I meet and often wave to them since most of them are other runners or dog-walkers. That, and it's cooler in the mornings. It's nice being able to run and have the air around you help to ...

Re: Emi inspired running/workout

Feels good to be up and working out again. Been sick for a week with a fever so I decided to take the week off and regain my strength. However a month of no strength training makes my muscles sores and want to kill me. xD Oh well, happy training everyone. Rest is important too! Don't do what I did ...
