Re: Recommend a VN
Oh, and if you're playing MuvLuv, don't stop at Extra. Finish Meiya's and Sumika's routes, and it'll unlock MuvLuv Unlimited. Then get MuvLuv Alternative (separate VN) which is the uber sequel to MuvLuv. Seriously, read all three. However, slice of life comedy will end with Unlimited, and a massive...

Re: Recommend a VN
Weirdly, it seems no one has recommended this so far. http://vndb.org/v5 I've been reading this intermittently this whole week. It's pretty fun. Has a good balance of comedy and drama, and apparently an overarching plotline which can be concluded once all the main routes are done. I'd play this too...

Re: Recommend a VN
It's more towards wacky than slice of life. But can be considered slice of life as well. And again, high school romance kinda, but not at all typical. Oh, and there are two more main routes to be translated, btw. Not one. Miyako's route, and the "true" route that unlocks when you complete...

Re: Recommend a VN
However, here's the most impressive factor of this VN. Almost all high rated VNs on VNDB have those scores thanks to highly depressing/saddening emotional scenes that grip the reader. But Majikoi never relies on saddening the reader. Instead, it makes the reader smile. I literally couldn't stop hav...

Re: Recommend a VN
Just got done playing Kanade's path on Deardrops. I honestly enjoyed that VN. I think its a real shame it isn't too popular though. I really thought it was nice. The impression I get is that the majority of the people that really enjoyed Kira Kira don't like Deardrops as much, whereas the ones that...

Re: Recommend a VN
I recently finished all of Kira Kira, and it essentially covers a fair bit of what you just listed off. The translation isn't terrible either, but you should know that the real drama comes after the more light-hearted first half, which kind of splits the entire game into two distinct sections. Depe...

Re: Recommend a VN
Hey, I'd like to play another vn, but internet searches were not much of help. I'd like one with a serious tone, and real, valid drama between characters. Like in Katawa Shoujo. I like the issues of mature life, cheating, getting a job, defects of marriage, leading double lives, dealing with disabi...

Re: Recommend a VN
If you like comedy, Extra by itself will also be a lot of fun. (That seems to depend on whether the reader likes the character of Sumika or not, though. I like her quite a lot, so I loved Extra.) Just don't expect anything mind blowing. Unlimited, however, is pretty much useless without Alternative...

Re: Recommend a VN
Extra being "bad" is a highly exaggerated opinion. The Muv-Luv series, including Extra, basically tells one of the best stories every told in any media. Extra is a part of the whole experience. Skipping Extra will be like skipping Fellowship of The Ring when reading LoTR. It'll be a bonus...

Re: Recommend a VN
Wow, long time since I posted on this forum. I've managed to get into the VN genre so figure I should recommend a few to help out newer VN players, since after all it was this thread that helped me get into them. A big thanks to encrypted12345 for the advice on Kira Kira, it was absolutely fantastic...

Re: Recommend a VN
Quick question about the Kira-Kira series. I just started playing it (Kira-Kira) but I noticed there are three different ones on the vndb. My question is exactly, after this should I play Curtain Call and Deardrops straight away or are they not 100% relevent to the original game? Curtain call is a ...

Re: Rin's neutral ending
I never really understood why people say that Rin kills herself after her bad ending. Unless I misread, which is possible, I didn't see it imply it. It isn't actually said, but it is strongly implied. Remember the tale about Sae's husband? Rin was exactly like him in all the other aspects, so there...

You get that cg when you get 100% in the library. Are you sure you aren't missing a scene? Slow Recovery from Act I is usually the one people miss.

Re: Missing CG
Thanks a bunch DeleV, that was exactly the one I was missing! I don't see any further point in this topic, so can a mod lock it please? Thanks in advance.
Unrelated note, that variation of the good ending was sweet.
