Re: Your favourite emotional romance VN?

For me it would have to be Symphonic Rain. The whole game was very emotional and although it was mostly depressing there were some parts that were happy, unfortunately however these were somewhat rare. In fact a major plot point is about the emotions of the characters (although going into too much d...

Re: Recommend a VN

Umm... I don't think that was JAST's fault. I'm pretty sure the original was like that too from the rumors I've heard about it. Also, remember that it's the HQ version, so a walkthrough for the original won't work. There are definitely bugs, but that's not one of them. Apparently it was the origina...

Re: Recommend a VN

Too bad the English version is only out in the crappiest format known to VNs, DVD Video. I've heard it is meant to be really good however, although all Nitro+ games are meant to be good, even Chaos;Head has some loyal fans. Phantom of Inferno also featured on one of the earlier versions of the /vn/...

Re: Recommend a VN

It's Slice of Life realism. Jokes aside, it starts out as a comedy, but becomes more dramatic after the common route. The one route I didn't like got stupidly dark in my opinion, but since it's short, you should give them all a try. I recommend Charlotte's route last since it fits best with the sho...

Re: Recommend a VN

Quartett! is a great one with excellent art and music, and it's also pretty funny too. What is Quartett! anyway? I have heard it get recommend quite a lot and that it's about music, but I don't really know anything else about it. Is it a comedy or something? The VNDB tags don't really help on this ...

Re: Recommend a VN

I thought it was better than Kira Kira all around, since I still can't say I particularly enjoyed that one (*smiles bitterly*). And ah, well, Katawa Shoujo is still god-tier from my very inexperienced point of view, the only thing that has so far come close is G-senjou. But I really did like Prince...

Re: Recommend a VN

Well, obviously I'm still new to all of this, but Princess Waltz was the second VN I played (after KS), and I thought it was pretty damn neat, in a shounen anime sort of way. Great final ending, though, not to mention a hilarious bad ending - in retrospect, anyway (no spoilers). Oh, and it's worth ...

Re: Recommend a VN

Well, that explains it. I was seriously flustered there for a sec, I told the protagonist to run away, and he still got seduced . This is the first time I'm hearing about how much sex there is... but it should be interesting. At the very least I have Hoshimemo to look forward to. To which I can loo...

Re: Recommend a VN

Thanks for the input, I just started YMK, and it's pretty interesting... although I will say that I got an H-scene just three and a half hours into it , that's pretty weird. Many people class Yume Miru Kusuri a nukige, although that is somewhat debateable. There is a LOT of sex in YMK, especially i...

Re: Recommend a VN

Finished Narcissu but lets say Windows 7 and Narcissu are mortal enemies. Crashed every single time a chapter was finished and occasionally, when you load a new scene. I couldn't load saves unless I run administrator mode of the game before the save and after it. Trying to backwards compatibility w...

Re: Recommend a VN

I have four VNs lined up, but I'm not sure which to play first. Any input would be appreciated. YMK Crescendo Shuffle! Hoshizora no Memoria I have heard Shuffle! is meant to be pretty awful except as a gateway VN. Hoshizora no Memoria is really fun if you like slice of life and comedy, romance and ...

Re: Recommend a VN

Whoa whoa whoa, hold up there. You're talking about the protagonist of Deadrops? And now suddenly he's in a relationship with Kirari? What happened to Bakanosuke? No, reading Curtain Call will tell you all about Shikanosuke and Kirari. As that guy said Kirari makes a cameo in DEARDROPS, she is not ...

Re: Recommend a VN

Closure, huh... I guess I could certainly use some of that. Although I assume that Curtain Call follows the events of Kirari's true ending from the original game, and not, say, the ending that happened to be the most in need of closure, i.e. Sarina's ending . To clarify, though, Deardrops only has ...

Re: Recommend a VN

On a related note - obviously I finished Kira Kira just recently, about a week ago, and I've been wondering whether or not to take the time to play Curtain Call. Is it really worth it, can it wait, or is it possibly a waste of time? Any input on that would be appreciated. Deardrops is also on my li...

Re: Recommend a VN

He's being honest about the storyline of Monster Girl Quest. It is very good despite or perhaps because of the premise. I wouldn't say advanced, but it is very engrossing. It also has old-school style RPG battle system, so it'll be significantly easier than Sengoku Rance. Both are must plays despit...
