The problem with mental handicaps is that, on one hand, it's far more difficult to write them in for believable characters without having firsthand experience - and on the other hand, it really blurs the lines on an unimportant concept called consent.

Just sayin'...

The interesting thing about this is: 4LS often stated there won't be a sequel, and if you read between the lines of this blog post, it seems some of the reasons for that snuck into it.

First off, how can such a simple game be that addicting? It seems I can't explain it at all - actually, when a friend asked me why I got hooked on a flash game lately the only explanation I could muster was something along the lines of "you'd need half a day minimum on TVtropes to even begin ...

Oh my, why did I do this... it was supposed to be a short trip to the Ks forums, for a few laughs, maybe checking the latest version of Katawa Crash, stuff like that, as a finishing note on my "annual soul purge".

i wonder is the review based off ks being a VN or a video game ?? ( cause as a game there isn't much in the way of interaction )

I'll have to admit, while KS is quite good, it's not ...

Playing the bad ends is a good way to distance yourself from the game again, after having palyed it a lot. At least for me, it felt.. finished, afterwards. I still fire it up now and then to play some scenes again, but in a way, it helped me move on and realize that, in fact, it's just a game.

Also ...

I would try to race Emi, keel over and spend the rest of the afternoon lying on the track, wheezing and cursing my smoking habit.

Distancing the project from KS by using another name is a step into the right direction.

It doesn't change my original doubts of "do we really need another game with virtually the same premise?" but it will surely help reaching a wider audience ( and a fair share of KS fans that would otherwise be ...

Even if it's a bad review, it's still media attention - and not the usual negative "omg it is about fucking crippled girls, what's wrong with the world" shit.

My reaction could best be summarized with "huh." and a shrug.

And this is not the tenth KS fanboy bashing on the project, it's just... KS has been done, and it's been done good, so I don't know how much demand there is for a game with exactly the same premise. On the other hand, it could turn out ...

Playing every route a second time really pays off, it's like reading a good book again: you already know where the story is going and can pay attention to finer nuances of setting and character interaction, giving you an all-new experience. There's lot of stuff ...
