Re: In Ruin [Hisao, Miki, Lilly neutral end] [now with epilo
Harm to Hisao. I don't think she cared about Lilly, and given that she was cheating on him with half of Scotland I can't really get too worked up about her feelings on the matter.

Re: In Ruin [Hisao, Miki, Lilly neutral end] [now with epilo
Oddball: Motivation is everything. But that asede this is less a matter of betrayal than it is her forcing the issue - Hisao was theoretically going to tell Lilly anyway, and was just using Miki in the meantime. I find it awfully hard to blame her for being tired of his invertebrate impression and w...

I've seen people forgive much worse. Sometimes the relationships involved have even been healthy. It's not all that hard to understand, really; a well-intentioned dick move just doesn't have to be a deal-breaker, particularly when none of the principals are without sin.

Re: Mendācium (Hanako) - Version 1.1
It's less "No one would ever do this" and more "This doesn't really follow from Hanako's good end."

Re: Mendācium (Hanako) - Version 1.1
Does she, or is it a constant balancing act between needing Lilly, Akira and Hisao's help but resenting them at the same time? She certainly seems willing to throw it all away in a moments notice when really pushed, though the circumstances being what they are I admit that's not the best evidence. ...

Re: Mendācium (Hanako) - Version 1.1
What she wouldn't do, though, is ditch Hisao because he's a lousy lay, or because she thinks she deserves better. You say this as if it doesn't happen all the time. She'd feel guilty about it, but in the end if he doesn't really satisfy her needs then it isn't going to work out (though it's entirel...

Re: Mendācium (Hanako) - Version 1.1
I don't know if it's fair to say Brogurt got the characters wrong... after all we've never seen them in a cannon situation like this before, so how would we know? In retrospect I do find this oddly plausible behavior for both of them: Hanako has shown a tendency to assume the worst of others, to bl...

Re: Rika Story - updated 5/15/2012 (mature content)
I'm really sorry. I have been working on it (a LOT lately) and I plan on posting it within the next couple of days. I would have said something earlier but I've been avoiding this place like a guy who owes money to the mafia. It's rude of me to leave this without an update for so long and I honestl...

Re: Antiphony (Hanako)
There's the other reason nobody likes him. He thinks that anybody who dislikes Mendacium only dislikes it because they are mad about the subject matter, not the wooden dialogue or the characters being majorly OOC. I'm pretty vocal about my criticism of Brogurt but the things you're claiming here ar...

Re: Antiphony (Hanako)
Hey ho, why do people here rail so against the Bro? Because he trolls a lot ("Misha is fat" et al) and has a very warped perception of several of the characters, particularly Hisao and Hanako. He actually takes criticism pretty well, but the incessant "I must explain my reasoning beh...

Re: Antiphony (Hanako)
Yeah, pretty much what Oddball said. This whole notion of her "upgrading" at her loved ones' expense is about as out of character as I can imagine.

Re: Antiphony (Hanako)
I certainly did rewrite a couple lines because I got tunnel vision with the NTR, but you can't bitch and moan that it's OOC just because it's unpleasant. How about because it clashes strongly with the depictions of the characters in the source material and doesn't make sense given Hanako's stated g...

Re: Lilly "Bittersweet" neutral end continuation
It's not so much a lie as misleading action. She started a relationshipwith him, not mentioning that she would dump him a few weeks later anyway. That of course is assuming she had made up hr mind to leave at that point. Heck, I don't even think that they outright state that she had been told to co...

Re: Lilly "Bittersweet" neutral end continuation
A begged question is a logical fallacy, not a raised question.Vaer wrote:So the question begs: is a lie of omission still a lie?
And yes, it is. She started a relationship with the guy knowing full well she was going back to Scotland. She isn't even close to having the moral high ground here.
