Re: With Apologies To Harlan Ellison [Spoilers, Gore Discret

To some extent, anyway. On the other hand, there is a theory of torture that uses this very concept: you lay out a schedule, ending with the victim's execution, and stick strictly to it until they start looking forward to their own death. But then on the day of the supposed execution, you instead -...

Re: 2400 words from a path never written.

Thinking about it, I think the drabble approach is a poor one for this story. Enomoto, as you've described her, is a fantastic character. But she needs more depth, and drabbles aren't cutting it. If you expand the story and the timeframe (say, 20 years or so) I think you'll be on to something truly ...

You shouldn't be, as it's quite good. My only complaint is that she died too soon! She should have had years, and it sounds like she died in a matter of weeks.

Re: With Apologies To Harlan Ellison [Spoilers, Gore Discret

I was afraid you'd do something like this. You have now robbed yourself of the possibility to bring this story to any conclusion at all. Yeah, pretty much. Now it just goes in circles until you get tired of it and decide to stop. Future reveals are now meaningless because we'll never have any reaso...

Re: Yields Six Servings

This is awesome, though I also thought the first draft was a bit better; as with cooking, Rinisms work best in small doses IMO. Some specifics: The first fireworks bit was great, but the others just felt forced. I like the bit about the garlic cloves looking like smashed bugs (not in the original dr...

Re: New Experiences

On the other hand, there are certainly much worse criteria on which to base one's choice of romantic partners. While that's true, I nonetheless think this is an excellent way for both of them to get hurt. If her feelings are genuine it's no biggie, but if they're not, and she's mistaking gratitude ...

Re: New Experiences

If I were Naomi the one thing I'd be worried about here is the possibility that Hanako only feels this way because she's been nice to her. Look at the list of people who've treated Hanako decently in the past. Now look at the list of her love interests. Odd how the same people are on each list, eh? ...

Re: With Apologies To Harlan Ellison [Spoilers, Gore Discret

I think the ending's fine. I'm not sure what else you can do with the idea at this point, though; further suffering on Hisao's part would be pointless (and have next to impact given what's come before), and losing either Hanako or Rin would just seem gratuitous at this point (indeed, if he lost both...

Re: Katawa Shoujo Folding@Home Team

So after completing three projects successfully my F@H client (Windows ver. 6.23) started a fourth and . . . died. I'm not sure why. Checking the logfile this is what I find: [01:23:24] Completed 171690 out of 750000 steps (22%) [01:40:18] Completed 172500 out of 750000 steps (23%) [02:48:11] mplete...

Re: I wish Misha had her own route *spoilers for Shizune's r

Misha looks like a girl who enjoys a good sandwich now and then, that's all. I still think a theoretical Misha route should end with her deciding to stay a lesbian and you and her becoming BROS FOR LYFE and going out on the town to pick up chicks together. That's a great idea, actually; Misha would...

Re: Which is the saddest ending?

Toss up between Hanako's and Rin's neutral endings. Everything else is fixable, but these are pretty damn bad for the girls in question.

(and for Pete's sake, Shizune's bad ending has nothing to do with Hisao's infidelity. She didn't even know about that.)
