Re: Missing CG
There are two ways to get to the good end of Emi's path. That CG is from the other one. The emergency escape from the road to badness so to speak.

Re: Katawa Shoujo Soundtrack Up for Download
I recently checked the difference between the music in Act 1 V5 and the final release. I knew it was different and that most of the songs were cleaned up, but I hadn't realised how big the difference actually is. So I'd like to give a big thank you to Nicol for revisiting his music redoing pretty ...

Re: A Week of Memories part 7: Graduation
I was unaware of everything for most of the development time, but looking back at the blog and forums I must say that you have handled the community very well. Closed development is the way to go for these kinds of things, but to keep a community together without content is difficult. I don't know ...

Re: Am I the only one that enjoyed Shizune's route?
DeleV, I assume you're in your early thirties? I'm relatively young compared to the two of you (22 this December), but I think my tendency to overthink and read too much into every gesture may have contributed to my appreciation of this particular story arc. It really rewards the reader who probes ...

Re: Am I the only one that enjoyed Shizune's route?
I'm sure there are younger readers that get it, but considering some of the "reasons" I've read, I still think that age is a factor. So I'm sticking with it. Until evidence to the contrary comes along of course.

Re: Relationship Poll
I suppose it's the same reason why everybody else enjoys it. They're good stories with wonderful characters that seem to get under you skin. After all, it really doesn't work as porn. I wonder how many people were disappointed for not getting that.

Re: Am I the only one that enjoyed Shizune's route?
Sadly, not many people are willing to do that, either because Shizune her self can come across as a little "strong" for some and the combination of her rivalry with Lilly and people being disappointed over the lack of a Misha route means that she also gets Die for Our Ship flack from two fronts ...

Re: Issues with Installation on Linux
That doesn't look like it should. The first command is what the shell script generates to start KS. I wanted to see what it did directly. And saying that lib/python is a directory is odd. The second command just lists the file lib/python in long format. This shows that lib/python is actually a ...

Re: Issues with Installation on Linux
The checksum is in the filename of the file you downloaded. It's important because there was a different version on the first day of release with some permission issues. Unfortunately, this old one got picked up by sites like Pirate Bay and got distributed much more than it should have been. Anyway ...

Re: Issues with Installation on Linux
I'm curious what you've been doing with it all this time. On Ubuntu it normally works without issues at all. Just unpack the archive. Browse to the folder, double click the .sh file and choose "Run". No need to install anything specific. Did you download the latest (fixed) archive? The one with the ...

Re: What are the things that you like about Katawa Shoujo?
I think this can actually be reduced to one point: KS respects its characters. Something which is not exactly common enough in fiction.

It's who I am. It's also why I favour Shizune above Lilly. *quickly leaves this thread*N. Bekkler wrote:On that note, how dare you strike down my ranting and shortsighted musings with a logical and reasoned argument? I would be offended if I wasn't so introspective right now

Re: Lilly's Route
The problem with good bad ends is that it actually requires a substantial effort from the writer. Shizune got the longest bad end and it shows (well, to those who like her). If something similar would have been done for Lilly, I suppose it would have branched off after "Farewell". Maybe playing out ...

Re: Shizune's path
It took me another week, but I've finally finished my reread of Shizune's path. I can actually recommend everyone that hasn't done so and has at least some interest in Shizune's character, to do so. It's well worth the time. And if there was any doubt before, I now put this path firmly at the top ...

Re: 100% Completion Step-by-Step
Now if you really want a challenge, try to find a method to determine "true 100%". Which would mean that you actually read every line of dialogue there is. After all, there's plenty of that appears with other than the necessary choices. In fact, there's even a line in Shizune Act 4 that only appears ...
