Re: Emi inspired running/workout

Hurt my back last monday deadlifting 100 kg. Was successfull, but next day I was barely able to bow. Still in pain so I have to take ibuprofen. The upside is that it doesn't hurt anymore when I fall off the ski  https://lh4.googleusercontent.com/-fI-c8Ke7yrk/UMOqM69JhiI/AAAAAAAABrw/HiL-QSLDXHs ...

Re: Emi inspired running/workout

Nah, XADV52 is a cross country/light back country ski. I want to go uphill, not downhill
Skipped running W6D1 yesterday due to crappy weather, did some strength training instead. 100 kg deadlift, I am happy :D

Re: Emi inspired running/workout

Well, for the summer, I used to cycle to work, that would be 25 km, somewhat over an hour. Had to do it on an empty stomach because I take thyroid hormone pills. The first few minutes were difficult but as soon as I was warm enough it was absolutely fine. Eating late in the evening surely helps. A ...

Re: Emi inspired running/workout

Man, that push-up challenge is killing me. Much harder to do for 10 minutes in the comfort of my house than to go running for 30 minutes in the cold outside. I have no chest muscles. I feel with you - I suck at bench press (can lift 50 kilos maybe three times in a row). Won't even try pushups ...

Re: Emi inspired running/workout

W5D1 done, actually even more than that (6 minute jog, 2 minute walk, 6 minute jog, 2 minute walk, 10 minute jog).
The energy is sort of there as long as I stay slow, but the lower back aches like hell.
I fear this Friday, though.

Re: Emi inspired running/workout

Finished W4D2 yesterday. Was sort of low on energy (and thus slow) because of the strength training the day before, but instead of the last 5 minutes run I jogged for 10 minutes straight. Not bad for a guy who carries 30 surplus kilos :D Also picked up nordic walking again, want to learn cross ...

Re: Emi inspired running/workout

w3d3 done, added a 8 minute jog afterwards. the pace sucked, though, due to insomnia the last few days.
i think these additional jogs are only possible because i am warm enough from the actual program.

Re: Emi inspired running/workout

just remember, when you cycle, shift as often as possible so you stay in the optimal (fast) cadence. otherwise you only damage your knees.

Re: Emi inspired running/workout

I have read that stretching should be a separate workout.

Btw, just finished W3D1, but barely. After two minutes of jogging I thought that Darth Vader was unhappy with my performance

Re: Emi inspired running/workout

Went for my usual walk today. Stamina seems slightly improved...At least, I wasn't breathing quite as hard. My legs seemed to hold up to the activity longer too...I would have gone on longer today but my lower back tends to protest extended walking by transforming into a lump of pain. do try to ...

Well, that kind of cheese is almost bearable if you put it into a salad. And it is almost pure protein - basically 30% protein, 70% water, better than a shake actually.
